If I had a nickel for every "the [insert MMO name here] I am playing is not like imagined in my wet dreams and therefore sucks," I would be able to end world hunger.

No matter the game or its quality, you will always have someone upset about something and wanting to tell others.

This thread reminds me of the fable: "the fox who lost his tail."

Ok, so why are you posting here? To spread the love of Wildstar or to see if people start reporting that this game becomes better?

Damn it! How did I let another mediocre MMO burn me again. I thought ESO was "The One".

What really rubs salt into the wound, is that WildStar is creaming ESO in the Metacritic rankings. I mean you've got a kiddie cartoon WoW knockoff, with pewpewpew, scoring an 86, and ESO has what... 71! *sigh*

    Right there with you OP.

I also paid for the 6 month sub thinking this would be a great game. Beta was super fun. But...now I wish that I'd only paid for a month. We're not saving money by getting the 6 month one, we're wasting time and money.

Uhm...I hope they make it a game worth staying for. It can be fun, if you're in the mood for frustratingly giving up on grouping and just solo questing.

    THIS!

The games I am looking for (Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, No Man's Sky, Destiny) don't launch until 2015 or later.

The only thing I see for the rest of 2014 is crappy/buggy "Early Release" games and an endless stream of ordinary indy games.

Destiny is releasing September 2014. I have it on pre-order and will probably play it when I need a break from ESO.

Look through Wildstar's general discussion forums, you'll find threads just like this one. It's "grass is greener" syndrome and there's always enough suckers who will always buy into it.

MMOs seem to attract a higher proportion of those with the syndrome though. I wonder why?

The reason you bought a 6 month sub from a company with 0/Nada/bugger all experience with creating an mmo, is because of the hype train.
Way to many fanboys (who ironically have now left to play wildstar lol)
I went per month only one game I subbed for 6 months since start (well 2 if you count EQ2) and that's Rift, every other game out there pretty much never lived up to what the devs promised at release, and by the time it did, not enough people were playing to make it enjoyable.

And to those who claim people are to busy playing instead of posting, where are they?
When you mean playing, you must mean playing another game, because as sure as eggs are eggs, they ain't playing this one, way to many zones are dead and along with the obvious way of seeing, guilds that have 500 max members but never had more than 40-50 on, and the majority of people who haven't been on for over a month.
Yup the games doing great, subs are growing and more people are playing, ROFL.
It's the fanboys who cause a games demise, happened with SWTOR happening with this.

Lol, naw. I love him too much for that. He hates ESO :x Could not get into questing at all. He likes Wildstar where he just kinda mindlessly goes through them, and they're mostly kill quests. He'd probably do well with a straight mob grind type game if I introduced him to one. He doesn't tend to seek out too many MMOs on his own.

Besides.. I get to troubleshoot bugs he's having by visiting their forums.. which does give me a little bit of snarky "I told you so" happy feelings when I see it's the same as any other MMO. Not cause I wish all MMO releases to have bots and bugs and all.. but because I understand that just kinda comes with the territory, and there were a few folks on these forums insisting Wildstar was the more polished game and their forums were so much better... even when I said they'd be the same.

If you're an open world PVP kind of person then Archeage, If you're a PVE kind of person Wildstar. Archeage Sandbox is cool and all but I think Eve Online, although totally different is a far better and mature sandbox MMO. Wildstar I was only in beta and have just started playing it again but it seems to have improved a lot from Beta....too early to tell but I hope this helps is some way :expressionless:

Hehe same boat but only 3 month here. I'm logging into Wildstar mainly now (it's a fun game). All my friends left ESO for it. They actually would still be playing ESO (they love realm v realm PvP) but for some inane design decisions, such as xp reward imbalances (no group leveling in dungeons).
OMG. I tried Wildstar several times and just...cannot...do it.

Coming from SWTOR (since launch) and being a massive ESO fan, I think I've been ruined by voice acting. The questing system in Wildstar - with the voice cues that don't match the quest text - is just jarring. Add to that the fact that the quest text goes away after a few seconds, and I find myself bewildered most of the time.

Visually, I find it a complete mess. Don't get me wrong - I love the art style. But the art style by itself is more than busy enough. That game SCREAMS for a minimal UI. Instead you have more menus, boxes, and pop-ups than the law allows. Instead of playing an MMO, I felt like I was trying to navigate an overly-busy iPhone in a foreign language.

Put telegraphs on top of that, and you might as well play blind-folded.

Maybe the story and the content are there, I dunno. I don't want to risk a seizure to find out.

At least look at it this way, you learn a really valuable lesson not to believe in HYPE, which unfortunately happens a lot in real life situations. Be glad that you only got burned 90 bucks instead of later on in life where you make a difficult decision where stakes are a lot lot higher and decisions matter more to your future

Oh please.... The vet level grind is atrocious. It has been cited time and time again as a very big reason for people leaving the game, don't try to invalidate someone's opinion with your fanboyism.

Its a legit gripe, even you don't feel the same way.

Yeah 10 zones filled with new quests, dungeons, world bosses, and dolomens... I don't think grind means what you think it does. Just because it takes time and isn't as easy as 1-50 does not mean it's a grind.

It's a grind because its tedious. But again, this is a subjective statement. You can disagree all you want but that does not make other people wrong. It is a perfectly valid opinion even if you don't share it.

Still there is no doubt that many of the "disappointed" postings on these forums are from the people of the "WoW-generation". No instant gratification question mark click-fest where 95% of the game content is passed in a week? Doesn't it rain purple set items from the sky after my effort of 15 min queuing and 20 min of clicking 1-2-1-4 while watching the favorite TV show? Did I really die? Does the story really matter?? Exactly....but people think differently

There are players in ESO who look constantly at their exp bar. Who wouldnt mind a boost in exp so they get bigger level.

They totally missed the plot! Everyone will be highest level at one point in ESO, but thats not the goal......Even people who look for the "best" grind. I wanna play! I dont wanna "work". Caues grinding to me is working.

Hell, one of the goals, ONE, is the battle for dominance in Cyro.....which is very very cool. And coming from someone who hates pvp ala Wow...thats something.

I started to go to Cyro around lvl 20-25 when a guildie forces me too. I keep going. Was soooooo fun using tactics, catapulting walls, burning enemies.

Taking a keep that defended by lots of max vet pvp players, who was very good 1-1, but did not have the capacity to understand....if you dont protect your resources...you cant respawn at your keep...and we....who where mostly under vet lvl....took their keep

And someone in this thread said....if they dont fix pvp, they leaving. What fix? The group lag bug was not Cyro related. And thats a fix in patch 1.2.3, so we can do large groups again in cyro!! Wooo!

They adding pvp missions. Changing them around a bit. Adding more to Cyro warfare.

Still there are some PvP player who still calls for "arena", small pvp fights.....eh...this is Tamriel. NOT WoW.

And btw, Wildstar seams to have a pretty damn good base idea for pvpers. But like all MMOs, that just gets more complexed software to get to work...have problems.

I read their forums tonight and .... um... their forum makes this one seam timid.

You can really tell the type of player by their posting. They are beyond patience. And ruthless unforgiving about everything.

One post was from an angry person who after playing 1 whole week, was lvl 50, which is maax, and the post was about complaining he/she got banned for 5 days. Reason was not clear. But the person stated that they should move real bots and not players who play "effective".

Bah! I wanna go cyro now.....gonna give it a try today and see if I magicly dont get a group lag bug....would be nice to do some catapulting!

Metacritic gets the scores from a bunch of game review sites and gives you the overall rating, hence the 'meta' tag. It's not something you should follow religiously, but there is such a thing as an informed consumer you know.

I playing this game from early acces and love it. My main is lvl 46 now and i play with 6 char (2 in every zone) every char with another proffesion and i like my adventuring and questing in every zone with every char.

When i do the same quest with another character i choose different answers or different final decisions and i see the same quest from another angle of view. Doing the same quest with sorcerer or with nightblade not the same for me i must change my gamestyle, play with melee not the same as play with range and magicka char is not the same as stamina char.

I think that all my 6 chars will be lvl 50 after 3-4 month from today. I will continue to vet levels with my main after all my six chars will be lvl 50. I am TES fan and i like adventuring in Tamriel and i like adventuring solo. I know that gameplay in vet levels will be much harder and i welcome it. My main will be vet 12 maybe around christmass this year.
