Its not rude, and totally cool. As many people have stated thats why the CD is there. Its not to stop ninja, its to stop chest hoarders. Also if he wanted the chest so badly he should of just not failed.

People in this thread are so tightly wound. I think some of them could use some serious ESO downtime.

I would have waited to see if that player was actually done attempting the chest (out of lock picks, tired of trying, etc.) then i would have given it a try. I don't think its rude as long as you don't try and steal it and give them a fair chance. I also think in those cases because it has happened to me either the chests should spawn more often or they need to be available to all players in the immediate area.

Lets see what the justice system going to be like when that comes. I hope thieves will be able to pickpocket PLAYERS as well. And that players can sign up working as guards.

Since, I have seen that kind of thing descend the communities in other MMOs. I would be unsubbed at the point it was patched in, or as close to it.

Hmm....This is a bit odd. Normally the threads you and me are in....are in 2 different side of things.

I WAS actually just thinking about MY reaction in the justice system. When I whine at others to look at the big picture.....I didnt myself this time.

You are correct sir. At first glance, cool idea for an orc to chase thieves......

But when I took a step back, Gave it a thought of what it would really mean about my own suggestion.

It would have a very big risk to be just like you say. Personal vendettas would most likely appear....and drama and, yeah you are right. I take back this suggestion I did.

Well the guy was chatty, upstart, but never rude...at least not in public what I saw. I enjoy different personalities. Thats why I asked.....

Somebody said they they were finally getting upset with the way ESO was working and I said "I'm proud of you, welcome to the club"

Obviously that is enough to get you banned for three days.

Oh phew! There you are! Good to see you back! :D
But maybe think about the numbers of times you say "funny" things. Even though I enjoy em. ;-)

While you where gone, they found a fix for the group lag bug btw!
Head to Cyro on tuesday so I can catapult you away on the incoming army!

Just a bit of a story to share on topic.

About a week ago I was running around in Reaper's March exploring. Found a small bridge, beneath which was a conspiciously positioned troll.

Behind the troll was a chest. Figured I'd grab it.. so I decided to take him out.

Being that I'm a caster type build... I initiate the fight from roughly 25 meters away and go to town.

Near the end of the fight.. from out of nowhere some guy swoops in on a horse and jumps on the chest, picks it in seconds and is off.

I arrive next to the chest just as he's mounting and say...

"Was kinda killing that troll for that, thanks bro."

I went about my business, assuming he didnt eve read the /say in his chat log.

Roughly 5 minutes later I get a mail from someone I dont know.

"Sorry about the chest man, I didn't know."

    Attachment: 150G

So there are some people who consider the etiquitte of this. I would never expect anyone to go that far but it was a pretty nice surprise.

To me.. getting a chest first, or taking a chest someone failed on is fair game... but if you got to the chest because someone else was busy clearing the mob guarding it, then thats kinda upsetting.

Anyway, true story. Nice guy ( ' ')b

Im a opener and leaver really if i see someone fail twice ill open it and just walk away, if they can't open a master on the second attempt its quite clear that they cant get it and it isn't worth their picks to do so if there is player like me who can open them 1st try.

I dont need the loot, they might never open it but you should NEVER spam X to steal anything in a chest ... its just not worth it.
