Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 8, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

Guild Stores

Personally, I feel that Guild Stores are not of much use to the general player population; they limit the amount of potential buyers that you can have as a seller, and limit the amount of items that you can buy.

This coupled with the lack of functionality of the guild stores - no ability to search for specific items, sort the items alphabetically or even by price, or enough categorisations to filter the results properly - makes them pretty useless overall.

This has resulted in seller spam in chat - understandable as no one can sell their items. But the fact that this has resulted in chat spam should show you that we need server wide auction houses. Most other MMO's have them and ESO needs them.

I know that your all busy fixing other things, but it is these little elements of frustration that build into cancelled subscriptions.

What disappointed me was that I thought claiming a keep in cyrodill would give outsiders access to your guildstore. So far, I have not seen this be the case.
This one has an eloquent and well thought out response to tha... Ooh sweetroll!

It was like this in beta, but they changed it, can't remember why. I would hope they will be introducing this again. It really makes sense as a feature.

As far as I know this is a bug. That functionality was intended. It's just not working currently. Guild kiosks are also in the works, which would allow guilds to bid upon a few sites where they could open their store to the general public.

I literally spent 1 hour searching and asking if there was some type of auction house that i could sell my crafting materials on. I hope it is something that is being looked at adding.

They need an AH - preferably cross faction. The AH is an enjoyable mini-game for tons of MMO players. Probably pretty easy to code in - fairly mundane DB stuff.

Still don't understand the logic and fun of limiting markets to guilds. Pretty much a non sequitur anyway as a viable market really assumes more than the typically 50 of so active guild members.

The formula for a successful video game should begin and end with: what's the most fun? Really makes you shake your head.

Standardizing the market place by adding an AH would simplify supply and demand and contribute to the enjoyment of the game.

It makes sense to add an AH, therefore I'm betting it won't happen!

I think it would work the way it is if:
    1. They increased the guild size to say: 5,000. This is needed to make people go to the guild stores more often so they're used to.
    2. Next they need to make the Cyrodill keeps more useful by making them accessible from the Guild Store interface at banks. Ideally by having a single unified store search that goes against all stores you have access to.

If this happened suddenly the market would be big enough where the stores would be used a lot more and owning a keep would be a huge deal.

Why are we complicating a simple problem:

Player sellers don't wish to limit their goods to single guild stores
Player Buyers dont want to limit their purchasing to a single guild store

From that I am guessing that players will also not want to log into specific campaigns in PVP to access a single players guild store.

Therefore, the simplest, practical solution. Is to make auction houses in every single city - preferably in Banks. Auction houses that have:
    - The ability to search for an item
    - The ability to sort the searched items by price, name, level, cost
    - No limit on the speed to which you can click through the auction house pages

Would be awesome if someone from Zenimax could comment on this.

The only reason I can see why they haven't added an AH is because everyone would be max craft level within the day.
Being First is not the prize, it just mean's everyone can stab you in the back.

I agree, we need an auction house. I can't be bothered to join 5 guilds, only to find they don't have much to offer.
3 things they should have copied from WoW
    Individual banks
    Auction House
    Mail system

Even in games with auction houses, there is still chat spam. Horrendous chat spam.

Guilds stores do need improved. The entire interface needs redone, to allow you more sorting and filtering options, search ability, etc.

More options for getting your goods out to the world also need added.

But, as countless other threads have covered, the 'convenience' of auction houses bring a slew of other devils into the business. Localized item trade makes ESO one of the few games on the market where the economy isn't completely ruined with each new glitch or bug or abused mechanic.

Golds and purples are still rare. Gold proliferation is still low. Prices aren't rock bottom and focused on gear-grinding professional raid groups to fill the system with rare loot.

So I firmly support, and enjoy, ESO's choice of smaller market economies. And as has been shown in poll after poll (even in these hate filled forums), auction houses aren't universally wanted. Not even wanted by a majority of those who voted.

He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

I would support an alliance-wide auction house on one condition: only crafting materials and crafted gear can be sold, no looted items.

I think this would avoid the 'rarity disparity' that ZOS mentioned, as well as prevent the game from focusing on gear-grinding mechanics or grinding in general.

I'm surprised that after a year of beta tests and two months of official release that there is still no method to search the guild store. The category system is useless; I search for "Materials", and it brings back weapons and armor along with recipes and style books. Yup, that's a smart sorting system.

This is why you don't limit betas to one or two weekends per month and wipe characters in between each session; it results in the first few months of retail release being little more than a pay-to-play beta.

They didn't, sadly. There has been full-time beta access for, what, a year?

There were just smaller, public beta stress tests.

    Why that makes perfect sense!!

Materials are used in weapons and armor (which require motifs, so they belong too, of course), and recipes use materials!

    See? Makes complete sense.
