✭✭✭✭✭I haven't heard of anyone having issues with their ultimate charge disappearing after a few seconds. As far as I know, it's supposed to go away when you haven't used it for an extended period of time (5-10 minutes without fighting, from my completely unscientific observations).----

Mablung✭✭✭✭✭I have had this happen repeatedly with my VR9 Nightblade and my level 27 Sorc. It does seem to happen more frequently with my Nightblade. My ultimate is constantly resetting back to 0 for no apparent reason. Also upon death if you select R, it will expend your ultimate that way as well.
I have submitted multiple bug reports. This did not start for me until patch 1.1.2.0 -

It resets after exactly 5 minutes of not gaining ultimate. It doesn't matter if your in combat or not, you need to damage something or heal someone. changing zones/logging out removes the timer and lets you keep your ultimate until you gain ultimate again, then the 5 minute timer starts up again.
This addon tracks your ultimate gain and has a 5 minute timer attached. Its a really *** addon tho, if your interface slider is maxed it will be behind the skill bar. you can change the position of the addon with the .xml file included. (no settings menu)

Ultimate dropping a bit over time when not doing anything.....great. But dropping completely after 5 mins? That is stupid because the reason for the Ultimate is so you can choose when to use it.

I'm pretty sure the 5 minute timer is true. Happens to me in Cyrodiil most often since there can be times where I die and have to run back (5 minutes elapse) and my Ultimate is 0. As long as you do something to gain ultimate (even selfheal crit), it will reset the timer.0 -

"if im playing a total stealth based character (nightblade) and i have my ultimate disapier then i will need to *Leave Stealth* and go out in the open and expose myself and my presence just to gain my ultimate back, thus showing not only my position and that im there but also allows me to become a target and killed because im now fighting a bunch of mobbs and maybe even a miniboss to get my ultimate back including the fact that im allready a nightblade and killed easilly and dont do as much damage as the other classes. thus i will be able to try to stay prepared with my ultimate up and fully charged so i can atleast have a 10% chance of survivability instead of the normal 3% chance? am i understanding you correctly or did i miss something in this conversation?"

I play a stealthy dual-wield/bow Nightblade. I have to leave stealth any time I get in an encounter. If I come across a group of enemies (let's say 3-4 enemies but with a boss in the group so that it's actually a hard fight) when my ultimate isn't fully charged, I can either use the first part of the fight to charge it up, or I can go find some smaller groups of enemies (they'll be around) to charge it up before the fight. If you find that you only have a 10% chance of surviving a fight, I think you may want to reevaluate your tactical choices.----

Yep, I can confirm that ultimate disappears in about 5 minutes when not in combat. It's rather irritating waiting for a groupmate to arrive for a random world boss kill, only to die on engage due to my ultimate having poofed by the time they arrive.
It's completely counter intuitive to the rest of the game's combat mechanics, such as they are. Try as I might, I can't find this 'feature' anywhere in the in-game help menus, or documentation.
Abrupt resource loss for no obvious reason is simply frustrating, and to not warn the player about it is worse.
I expect this from Khajiit, not the game client.1 -

Lyall84✭✭✭✭Think it is bad as just a night blade, try any class as a werewolf. 750 ultimate...that is a crap ton to generate in pvp only to have the 500/750 that you had built up disappear between keeps while hoofing it in pvp. It is garbage that it disappears.
To make matters worse for any werewolf, any ultimate generated in wolf form gets reset to 0 when you revert to human, basically making the entire pack leader morph useless.
Bottom line, 100% agree that the ultimate reset has to go away, especially when there are ways of other classes, *cough* DKs with earthen heart passive *cough*, to just generate ultimate outside of combat. There are plenty of other ways to preload ultimate that are used in pvp every day. So the entire unbalance pvp argument doesn't hold water.
The good news for night blades, is that between soul harvest and power extraction (hits 9 instead of the 6 that sap essense does) we have some of the quickest ultimate generation once we get into combat (givin that it is an aoe situation).1 -
Lyall84✭✭✭✭My vote. Have it start degrading at 1 ultimate a second when that 5 minutes hit. So that way you have an indication, and if using a huge cost ultimate like werewolf, you do not have to build all the way back from 0.0

reggielee✭✭✭✭I agree, my ulitimate is always uncharged due to the fact that I dont charge in blasting away every second of gameplay and also to the mysterious depletion which seems to happen whenever I cross a boundary, door, port. I like to take my time, sneak in, investigate and scout, resulting in an unuseable ultimate most of my game play. Its to the point that I dont even consider it a skill in my rotation, I may use it 3 times per game play. I most definitely dont count on it...everMama always said the fastest way to a man's heart is through his chest.0 -
FrauPerchta✭✭✭Happens to me a lot but only on certain characters. Also on two of my characters my Ultimate will be fully charged but refuses to fire when keyed. And several times after refusing to fire during battle it will fire as soon as the battle ends.0

pong✭✭✭Well since KB kills less in PvE other than other classes out there its bound to happen, we KB have to wait wait wait for the right timing and then some magic spammer takes our kill. Add this one downside of being a KB. But anyhow I will still keep my KB Stamina build, just I just don't know if I should put some on health or magica1 -
