Money hungry

I know I'm not the only one that has complained about this. but I'm hoping that if it is said enough times it will get changed. the amount of gold you get by doing quests and killing mobs is stupid. 1g for a normal mob, 5g for a boss. and horses cost way to much for the amount of gold you get from mobs. on top of that you can pay 15$ to just buy one? REALLY!! are you so so tight for cash you got to get every last penny out of your fans? I would be ok if it was 5$. and you can ether up the amount of gold droped by mobs or lower the price of horses. Come on guys thank with your heads.

Money is not hard to come by in this game. I sell almost nothing on the open market, and vendor most everything instead. Even so, I have plenty of money.

If you're vendoring weapons and armor, you should deconstruct them first and vendor the mats. You get more money that way.
  • maxkingkillerb14a_ESO
how much would you say you get for a weapon or armor on avarege?

You start earning quite a bit of money at VR lvls. Usually lvl 1-50, you get average 10k per zone cleared up to 50k by the time you reach coldharbour. VR lvls its usually a good 15-20k per map. This is just completing all the quest in an area.

Other people spam mobs, take mats and refine them. You can get upgrade materials this way and those do sell for a lot on the market.
I take pride in being an incredibly smart dumb ass, or an incredibly dumb smart ass, either way I'm awesome.

I've put little to no effort into getting gold so far... Only belong to one trade guild... Have bank alts absolutely RAMMED with crafting mats as I haven't sold any yet... and still have no problems staying over 100k gold, with a couple of horses bought, some v12 warlock pieces, and a full 208 skill point respec paid for.

Just don't repair too much while levelling. Armor doesn't do all that much for you then anyways, and you'll find new stuff by the time you really need more.

You'll save thousands that way at the very least.

I got to 50 with 2 horses(both 42k) + 110 bag slots(maximum) + 150 bag slots if i remember... but i did take it slow and i sold tempers and such in Trading Guilds. I was also lucky with runes...

You should have enough but i agree that it could be easier...

I think your doing something wrong. Others have said it in the post. Decon. Sell mats. I was able to buy a horse at 20. But I still bought the imperial editjon.

If you are good at this game then money is not a problem... even as a casual player. If you understand simple economics of supply and demand then money wont be a problem either.

If you simply expect to grind mobs for easy button money then you will be poor.

Learn to play vet levels and get in a trial group and farm trials... so far that's the easiest way to earn money or... level up crafting but only put points into hirelings. Then sell the high value mats they give you for 100% profit.

However there are other ways of making money just be insightful and creative.

Okay, so VR ranks are the way to make gold in this game, and don't repair gear. Can gear get to the point you can't get it repaired?

I'm at Level 31, and my gold is sitting at just under 3K. I deconstruct nearly everything and sell it. Still doesn't help all that much. Then I bought some extra bag space for an outrageous amount of coin, so the little bit of savings I'd had was gone.

Not seeing how anyone below Level 30 can have enough coin to buy a mount, unless they never buy bag space, never repair gear ... or they buy gold from one of those darn gold-sellers.

Or you could... I don't know... play the game? Be innovative... A lowly lvl 5 could spend a couple hours harvesting crafting and alchemy materials... Take a long slow 'caravan' journey to some level 40+ areas and sell them to players.

Ton of WTB mats in every zone I have ever been in...

That said, once you hit 50 in crafting and don't need to deconstruct everything anymore... the money from looted equipment is amazingly high.

If repairing is making you poor then you need to figure what you might be doing wrong.

Remember ESO IS about doing what you want... but that doesn't mean you will be able to do everything. Versatility is key as it allows you to adapt. So get out there and get those skill points.

PS: level 31 you shouldnt need that much money anyways and a horse isnt that big of a deal.

I have a horse and I NEVER use it... so when I got one I just used it for bag space... travel is free and shrines are everywhere within walking distance. The only time I would NEED a horse is PVP, but I dont PVP anymore.

The problem is monsters are definitely not a good source of money, for the most part. To save on money don't repair your gear, just craft new ones every couple of levels, and make sure to use the torug's pact set with the 100 extra armor so when it gets damaged it's still usable. Also, when you get to level 42 in your crafting make sure to get the extraction skills to 3/3 and refine your own raw materials for those upgrade mats. You shouldn't have to buy much of anything really until you get to the later vr ranks and you want to spend some money on some nice gear (unless you need to buy a horse early on).

Personally, I have maxed bag and bank space, three epic vr5 recipes, two sets of legendary gear and the three maxed horses. I also maxed the Imperial horse. If you save up and trade wisely you'll find that after a certain point gold becomes useless and the argument flips around.

Rumor has that paying the $15.00 for the mount is OPTIONAL, if the ask is higher than what you are willing to pay for the product you can choose not to buy it.

As far as in game currency, generating gold in ESO is fairly easy, in fact you'll probably get to the point where you have more gold than you know what to do with.

Apparently, you've never played WOW, the most ''popular'' MMO in existence... Mounts there are 25.00... Not to mention the host of other things you can pay for if you wish... 15.00 for a mount which is account bound and not for a single toon is a steal...if your into that.

    Good point.

Edit: Regarding gear repair, I'm a retired soldier, so I like to keep my gear in top shape, performing PMCS on it daily - old habits die hard.

The stuff won't fall apart when it hits zero percent, will it?

    1) Fight. Seriously, drops from trash mobs is where most of my cash AND crafting exp comes from.

    2) Don't breakdown everything. Colored items(green, blue, etc) are broken down. Items with Inspiration bonuses are broken down. Everything else is sold, including white items with traits you don't need.

    3) After refining raw mats, sell anything you don't want to keep that has a price.

    4) Don't buy upgrades until you have double the price on you at least.

    5) Wanna buy a horse? See 4) first.

    6) Want X motif? Again, see 4) first.

    7) Remember you can have up to 7 alts on every account.

Follow that very loose procedure and i dare you to run out of gold ingame. Even if you are unwisely repairing gear every time you hit a major town(i personally make a gearset last about 4 lvls in 1~50, then just make a new set), you will be easily staying a good bit past breaking even.
