This was what PvP is all about for me.

Dawnbreaker EU.

DC holds the map and EP is trying to start their breakout.

Epic numbers attack from the front, DC answer with engines & skirmishers, gat goes down and the zerg comes in, engines greet them, they make it in anyway, groups fight, individuals fight, eventually they are driven back and walls get repaired.

But they are not done... they sends troops to one side to knock down the wall, but while DC defends EP team 2 is knocking down the opposite side, the enter, more fights on many levels.

This goes back and forth for nearly two hours before they finally take the fort and we defeated remnants fall back ready to defend the next threatened castle.

The player numbers must have been in the hundreds, the fights were from 1vs1 to many vs many, the result was in doubt until the end...

This is why, as a new MMO player, I love Cyrodiil.

Don't change it.

    Going to bump this once.

    Why?

Because the epic joys of the way this game does PvP get overlooked for all the demands for duels, super special shinies & 'rewards' for just showing up.

And yet - a 1vs1 combat in the middle of a war is where it is at, no pristine duel, a battle of wits on the battlefield with even the winner falling as a result.

What did you upgrade it from and to? Also please check this thread:

    (sorry not trying to highjack...)

At the weekend, Daggerfall Dawnbreaker euro had a huge keep defense going against Ebonheart. We held it for like 1+ hour, got a sweet new record roughly 13700 APs. Then a bit later we got finally got taken down
    Was pretty epic...

Yea, I definitely love the type of warfare we have in this game, reminds me a lot of oldschool SWG or even vanilla WoW minus the battlegrounds.

The destructible walls and siege weapons take things to a whole new level as well.

My only issue with pvp in ESO is the balance of time to kill / time to live. Right now I think that people of all ranks and levels are dying too quickly - if damage was pulled back a bit and survivability was increased a bit, the fights would be a little more drawn out and would allow for a little more tactical gameplay over button mashing. Even in those rare cases where you do get pulled into a small group or 1v1 fight, death comes all too quickly - whether it's for you or the other guy. I find no satisfaction in quick kills, I'd much rather have to fight battles of resource attrition that involve more drawn out tactics, use of control, kiting, healing, etc.

People keep telling me they're gonna buy me an ale. They never do.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's culture. And the Elves.

Also generally love Cyrodil and the epic battles you can have in there, both big and small. However, they would be much much more epic and far more enjoyable for everyone if
    1) The group bug was fixed so that in large groups if one person dc's doesn't cause 75% of the rest of the group to crash moments later
    2) Lag - Sunday night was horrendous for lag - on Bloodthorn we had the potential for some truly epic 3 way battles with huge armies on all 3 sides but lag was so bad it was virtually unplayable (judging from the comments in zone chat a very large portion of the DC side experienced the same thing, pretty sure AD and EP had the same problem).
    3) Ability/ skill lag was fixed along with weapon swap - I know ZOS is working on weapon swap but it is still buggy and ability lag also needs sorting.

There are many many other issues that need sorting but those would make a big difference to the kind of epic battles you are talking about and hopefully make them more common.

Indeed Dawnbreaker last night was a bliss. Reminded me good old days on Planetside 1, back in 2003. Where a single fort siege lasted 12 hours on Boxing day that year.

(hence last night I had to watch Game of Thrones at 1am and needed 5 coffees at work).

TESO is a great game if you remove the QQ trolls and expect the devs to fix those few bugs.

Also I would agree on scale down the damage in Cyrodiil and raise the survival ability.
It will make tactics more viable to win the battles.

But here we are, with ZOS Jessica saying today that we expect an update note this week on Templar, Medium & Heavy armour along with stamina & weapon damage.

    And something else.

Having played 10 years DAOC, TESO is miles better than DAOC ever was. The lack of insta mass mezz resulting to "who has the best bard/minstrel" and single side slaughter without opposition was the most frustrating issue DAOC had. (hence why we had better pvp experience in darkness falls dungeon)

TESO CC system is more balanced, and good players prevail regardless class-race.

My Celt Champion in DAOC suffered for years, and was sub par compared to a Hero.
But liked the toon. Was my first char.

Same goes to my Khajiit Templar. I love the toon, full stop. However in TESO, my Khajiit Templar while not strong like a DK, by applying brains, is as lethal and competitive as any other toon. Just requires more brain.

    Keep the good work ZoS.
And maybe beef up the campaigns to support more players soon. For trully massive scale battles. After fixing the bugs though.

The trolls can continue QQ now.

Dawnbreaker weekend was amazing, have to say i never seen such a fights, and Arrius defence was best i ever seen/participate in :) Was in Arrius all time during siege healing all of our DC mates till my eyes started to bleed. I thought it was more like 3 hours but easy to make a mistake in heat of battle. And yea, number of players was something between 300-500 i think. Ad showed up few times as well but it was mostly DC/EP event.

Hope more days like those will come.

And @p_tsakirisb16_ESO, agree on Templars and brains. If only more of players could use it(brain, not Templar ;) ) maybe they will be able to see how this class really works.

Indeed Templar is one of the most underrated classes, and better keep it like that. With people QQ about how weak it is to get better buff.

Is kinda balanced if you know how to play one, and OP if you go radical with your jewellery glyphs. I still laugh at NBs trying to gang me from stealth.
