This is a post where I'm going to highlight things I consider rewards, as a list of possible ideas for ZOS to add to dungeons, delves, veteran rank content or PvP.
It'll be fun seeing how many people don't read the post and just respond to the title question.
Current List of Rewards (for quest completion or from mob loot)
- Weapons, Armor and Jewelry
- Gold
- Skill Points
- Trophy's (activate and does a short animation)
- Costumes
- Trait materials
- Style stones
- Food
- Recipe's
- Enchantment stones
- Achievements
- Treasure maps
Reward Ideas, NPC Minions
- Pets (non-interactable critter that follows the player around for immersion/roleplay effect) New examples could include dogs, cats, birds, etc.
- Companions (summonable characters or creatures which have a limited effect in combat, applying crowd control but not increasing player damage done or tanking, and not capable of holding aggro) New examples could include Fighters Guild recruits, Mages Guild apprentices, alliance soldier NPC's, wolves, big cats, etc, and could work alongside Sorcerer daedric summons or Nightblade shade summons.
- Summonable Collectible Monsters (using a single quickslot-capable aylied stone, you could collect the souls of various monsters to summon later to fight alongside you, with these monsters having the same stats as when they were collected).
- Mounts (using current mount system) New examples could include guar (slower, larger packs), undead mounts, cat mounts, etc.
Reward Ideas, Crafting
- Style Motiffs (for the crafting of new armor/weapon styles) New examples could include dwemer, ebony, glass, or even variations of current motiffs, including a 'Post-Modern Daedric' that looks more like the armor found in Oblivion/Skyrim, etc.
- Limited Run Weapon/Armor Trait Stones (allows crafters to make only a limited number of items with these traits; does not have to be researched like regular traits; very rare loot drop in high-end content) New examples could include any set bonuses regularly found in loot, but due to the limited production value and rare drop, keep loot more common than these stones.
- Apply Two Trait Stones (ala Skyrim) (huge ability earned when a crafter reaches level 50, that allows crafters to put two regular crafting trait stones on an item instead of just one)
- New Set Bonuses (accessed through crafting stations at the end of major delves, hidden in group content, and locked behind VR leveled dungeons, in order to make the access of these more viable for active players)
Reward Ideas, Social
- Emotes (special emotes earned only after completing challenges within dungeons) New examples could include new dances, new songs to play, or even gymnastics and complex actions.
- Stances (similar to emotes, except when you toggle them on they change the way you stand, walk, jump and run).
- Costumes (for wearing over armor) New examples could include more common dress, fancy noble outfits, military uniforms for each alliance, and even shapeshifting into creatures like goblins or trolls.
- Cloaks, Capes and Kamas (non-essential clothing items which hang from the back and/or sides of the character and allow the displaying of logos or emblems, and can be turned on/off if the player has earned the option, but aren't crafted; cloaks go over your shoulders, capes just hang down the back, and kama's attach at the waist and hang down to just past the knees, but only on the back of the character, not as a skirt)
- Dyes (allows player to change the color scheme on armor and weapons; earned through completion of almost all major and minor achievements, specifically the grind-heavy ones)
- Armor Effects (adds graphic effects to players gear, including lightning, fire, shadow, etc; off during pvp)
Reward Ideas, Character
- Races (character creation options to allow players to be more than the default options) Examples include dwemer, chimer and nedic time traveler, etc.
- Character Select Background (allows players to set the background to different areas on the character select screen)
Will post more ideas as they are offered by others, or as they come to me.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.
XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.
He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.
This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.
