Shortage of bad arse looking gear.

Some of the plate mail looks ok. Some of the cloth looks ok. Some of the medium armor looks ok. But where is all the bad arse looking stuff? I mean armor that pops. Armor that says "Don't screw with me" Or armor that says "Yeah I am a hero known throughout the lands". Armor that makes people stop and look twice.

I am positive that there are a few sets out there that I haven't seen yet. But I have been browsing sites like http://eso-fashion.com/ and have fiddled around on my own. The only two sets that I have come across so far that really caught my eye was the Barbarian Medium armor set, and the Dark Seducer disguise.

I will say that heavy armor does seem to have more variety in appearance than cloth or leather. I dunno. Most of it just seems kinda plain.

Is it just me?

Ah don't worry when you get to Veteran Rank areas you won't worry about that medium armor anymore... you'll be wearing cloth like the rest of us trying to kill anything.

Nope, it's not just you. I read a thread that suggested pink armor was just over the horizon.

    That should pop.

I am a VR7 Templar and I have already jumped on that pathetically mandatory band wagon. Right now I'm wearing the Dark Seducer set because it looks great. Unfortunately, so is everyone else. Maybe some more disguise rewards for completing quest chains or something. I mean yes, dye will help. (pray to god we don't get neon colors) but dye doesn't change the style any.

My templar is now 160+ hours playtime just in VR, and I'm not struggling at all. It's not a faceroll, but there is certainly nothing really hard about it.

So no I'll be continue wearing my heavy armor, and not those fancy clothes! :P

I like almost all the armor in ESO. There's enough armor that looks badass in the distinctive/ornamental/rugged/medieval way imo. Not many that looks badass in a high fantasy way though, and I'd prefer it if it stays like that.

I love med, heavy bosmer armor look from lvl 36 up but I think I'll never enjoy it because of mana based skills which will force me to use light armor one day :(

It's finding dark coloured or black light armour that I'm struggling with, the light blues and greens etc are all over the place.

A black scaled Argonion with a face his own mother couldn't love looks a bit out of kilter in a bright green/cream dress :(

Gear sometimes looks a bit iffy on Khajiits what with their tail sprouting out of it... Does that count as 'bad arse'?

Just so we're clear, are we talking about armor that "pops" because it looks flippin' ridiculous? Because that has no place in the ES universe.

For my money, Daedric, Khajiit, Imperial, Breton, Primal, Ancient Elf and Altmer are all very cool styles, but I know plenty of people who prefer the other motifs. What Elder Scrolls fans don't want are flaming-skull pauldrons, swords twice the size of us, or armor that is generally so over-large and gaudy that it looks comical.

How to put this, you want Armour that will make you stand out, but you don't seem to get that if it looks that good then everyone will wear it, diminishing the impact of the Armour.

The whole point of Armour is to be practical, which limits how awe inspiring it can be, but no fighter would wear anything else. Flashy Armour is for the leaders, the ones a hundred miles away from ANY fighting.

A example of this was Richard the Lionhearts Armour, when he came back from the crusades he was going around putting down minor rebellions (mostly in northern france and noth-eastern spain which were part of his realm(he ruled far more than just England)) in a Golden Suit of Armour. It looked great, but had no defense worth, so when the crossbow bolt came, it killed him. If he had been wearing regular Armour he would have survived, in fact the crossbowman who made the shot was just being defiant, he didn't think it would do anything.

Moral of the story, don't wear Armour that's too blingy.

I just don't think much of it looks very cool. Obviously it's personal taste and no I'm not talking about ridiculously neon colored dye.

There is a reason so many people at V6 or higher are wearing the Dark Seducer disguise - it looks better than most armor. Period.

Dark Seducer is terrible. Sorry, Drizzzt, Legolus, and Sephirothx, this is not the bland spiky armored RPG you're looking for.

Keep leveling ;) VR12 Epic/ Legendary Cloth is navy blue -- a very dark navy blue that's close enough to black as to make little difference.

    Also, dyes are coming soonish.

Current gear is great imo for a game less than 3 months old. I think many are just bored with it by now. Colors are little bazaar at times but the dyes will help (although some of those colors make me a bit nervous).
