✭Well to be honest, I read the title of your post, took the time to read the post, and feel I'm entitled to comment.
What would have been better in my opinion would be to have one other option,
"Don't want the game to be F2P"
Then everyone could take part and you would get a much better feel of what those of us who post here (which is a very tiny amount of overall players) really think.
As it is, for all I know, every single person that voted might have already cancelled their sub7 -

Guild Wars 1 & 2 as well as Secret World are buy once play free forever, and all three of those have cash shops. Guild Wars' cash shops are a little better in that they are vanity items that aren't going to influence the game play.
That said I'd vote to keep Sub.And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. All that is left, is whispers of the adventures they had.3 -

I'm so over free to play games that are nothing but an open invitation to the developers to say "But if you just had this item from the cash shop your gameplay experience would be so much better! Oh sorry the upgrade you bought failed but feel free to buy more until it succeeds!" If ESO goes free to play I'm free to leave. My experience with free to play is it becomes pay to win and you end up being forced to spend more on cash shop items each month than you would with a subscription just to stay anywhere near competitive...I'm not going down that road again.

Sadly that isn't the case.
1) Somehow beta users can still get in and post regardless of their status.
2) My sub lapsed for 2 days thanks to ZOS Payment processing breaking again, and I was still able to post. (though that could be because I was part of beta)

Didn't vote as there is no "No f2p please." choice.
But did want to ask a quick question. Didn't the ZOS honchos say they would keep the servers open as long as there was enough demand? Or something along those lines anyway.
I admit i'm weird in the way my mind works at times, but to me that implies that if subs hit some undisclosed low point, the game will just be shutdown. I mean in my experience with f2p games, its usually the dev's main job for those games is to build up artificial demand through gimmicky cash shops/pay walls. And that just seems like a direction the devs aren't even really looking at.
Now of course the big-wigs could decide that they want milk TESO's lifeless husk by going f2p after sacking the current set of devs further on down the road. But that would just be common greed there as i have a gut feeling(no real proof of this of course) that initial sales + the first big wad of sub-fees have taken a nice chunk out of the start-up costs.
