Why the Elder Scrolls were right: the world is coming to an end (4E content)

Do you think that Skyrim ends with the defeat of Alduin and the end of a civil war? I think not. Below is evidence that a sequel is around the corner, or that the Elder Scrolls VI may occur either during the Dragonborn's lifetime or right after his/her death.

I know that this is way off topic, but I will soon connect it with ESO's story.

"So long as you and your heirs wear the Amulet of Kings, then shall this Dragonfire burn -an eternal flame- as a symbol to all men and gods of our faithfulness...

But should these Dragonfires fail, and should no heir of our joined blood wear the Amulet of Kings, then shall the Empire descend into darkness..."
~ Trials of St. Alessia

It is 4E 202. As the hostile dragons of the North diminish, Tamriel stands grudgingly calm. The Great War is currently at a halt, due to the signing of the White-Gold Concordat; a treaty that ensures Tamriel's peace, so long as the worship of Talos is outlawed, and the Third Aldmeri Dominion, otherwise known as the Thalmor, is allowed to persecute these worshipers as they please. Skyrim's outcry for independence; the freedom to worship their nord hero, Talos - has had its fate decided by the Dragonborn. He - the hero - defeated Alduin and brought peace to a country... but we were warned... and the scrolls have foretold, that when these events unfold, know that the world will soon be coming to an end. He is the Last Dragonborn... and he lives.

Empire: Imperials, Bretons, most Orsimer, [Nords if unified].
Dominion: Altmer, Bosmer, Khajiit.
Hammerfell: Redguards.
Argonia (Black Marsh): Argonians, Dunmer.
Morrowind: Dunmer.
Skyrim: Nords if independent.

All that is left of the Empire is Cyrodiil and High Rock, who is just in the Empire just because. They have no quarrel with each other. But that does not matter. The Thalmor is preparing their second generation of fighters since the Great War to make a second invasion. This is almost definite, no offense to Dominion supporters. Let's say that an event triggered the Empire to be caught in a situation which led to either submitting to the Thalmor, or war would be upon them. Whoever successes Titus Mede II would probably make a bold move to liberate everybody from elven supremacy... but in this kind of situation, he'd probably die by the end of the battle, and the ruby throne would be claimed by the elves.

Now wouldn't this cause an uprising across Tamriel? You have an imperial empire who lost their emporer! If anything, the Empire falls right there. High Rock [and Skyrim] can say goodbye.

What will the imperials do? First of all, they would be in chaos, but their military would probably reach out to neighbouring countries for assistance. What would Argonia and Morrowind say? Flat out NO!

But they have more sense than that. The imperials or elves will eventually try to expand territory in desperation for more forces, if their citizens have not already become refugees. So let's say that the argonians and dark elves in Argonia make plans to up their defenses, in case of an attack. Dunmer would want Morrowind to be in on the action, and considering that Morrowind would probably be making smart decisions as well, some connections would be made between the argonians and dark elves.

Do you see where I'm getting here?

No matter if the Dragonborn unified Skyrim or liberated Skyrim, it would be in vain. While some nords would definitely go into hero mode and want to smash some elf skulls, they would have to form a sturdy border, as the Dominion would be pushing North. Northern Cyrodiil = no man's land.

Let's say that a crafty person, whether they are an argonian, dark elf or nord, suggests a political meeting with Tamriel's Northeastern independent nations. Three nations who, as of the fourth era, enjoy their independence. If each like to have independence, why not share these mutual interests? The dunmer get to thrive in Morrowind with their own laws, as do the nords of Skyrim and the argonians of Morrowind. Did you see the dark elves and argonians in Windhelm while playing Skyrim? Well now they will receive compensation. Here is their pledge: (partly brought to you by the Dragonborn, a sympathizer to the dunmer and argonians)

"We promise that each nation keep their own culture vibrant and unharmed. Our laws are independent of each other, but with respect we will abide to them. As we stand together to ensure our differences, we will not allow the Dominion to take them from us. The days of slavery and discrimination are over. We are the Ebonheart Pact!"
~ The Second Ebonheart Pact.

And who is their heir to the ruby throne? Probably the Dragonborn. He is one of Alessia's heirs, and has the inherent right to sit on the ruby throne, even though the Amulet of Kings is destroyed.

Moving on to High Rock. The fallen successor of Titus Mede II might hand over the throne to the High King of High Rock, who rests safely away from the Aldmeri Dominion. High Rock is High Rock. They only have one problem: the orcs. They want the re-establishment of Orsinium. The bretons will play things smart. If they want to effectively win back Cyrodiil, they are going to have to make friends. Very well, the orcs can have Orsinium. Immediate ally.

The redguards would be a challenge, but the bretons have their ways. Of course, the imperials would largely be a part of High Rock's faction, even more increasing the difficulty to get the redguards to join up.

What would the bretons promise?

"Peace and prosperity. As we forge our alliances, we seek an empire like that of the days of Tiber Septim. We will not make the same mistakes as those who came before us. Stand with us, and we may drive out oppressors and aggressors who seek to rule for their own gains. We are the Daggerfall Covenant."
~ The Second Daggerfall Covenant.

Just remember: money can win wars.

And there you have it! The Alliance Wars in the 4th Era (The Second Great War), with a bunch of imperials scrambling for which alliance to seek refuge.

But it doesn't stop here. We've got the Dragonborn, possibly heading for the throne. Tamriel is in war. What about the Daedra? Martin Septim's sacrifice was made full, but what happens if the Last Dragonborn dies?

No more dragonborns...

"But should these Dragonfires fail, and should no heir of our joined blood wear the Amulet of Kings, then shall the Empire descend into darkness..."

No more heirs = Dragonfires will never be able to be lit again, even if they and the Amulet of Kings were reforged.

Back to the point of this thread. I think that Tamriel, or Nirn altogether, might end when the Dragonborn dies. If he dies, there will never be any hope left... ever.

"The storm is coming... The scent of war swirls in the air... As the imperial throne lies empty, the fate of all Tamriel rests on the strength of a common prisoner's soul... Evil awaken... A long vanished foe spurs. Those who would destroy Tamriel seek out dangers to their dark plot. So death's long arm reaches out... It is the two-hundred and secondth year of the Fourth Era. The drums of war are sounding. This is where our story begins."

Well, the entire reason behind the Amulet of Kings was to shelter Tamriel from the Daedric Realms. The Oblivion Crisis permanently closed the major paths from the Realms, so no threat of Daedric Princes pulling the world into their realms. Need for the Amulet gone.

The dragonborn is the ultimate dragon fighter - but one needs not be an Emperor. That's their only job now - suppress the evil dragons.

Not to say agents of the Daedric Princes can't act - they just can't get the Daedric Princes onto Tamriel.

So the only real thing going now is that it's a fight between the races and the intrigues of the agents.

Your logic assumes that the Dragonborn is an heir to Alessia, which is not actually true.

All heirs to Alessia have dragonblood and are considered dragonborn, but not all dragonborn are heirs to Alessia. There were dragonborn in Tamriel long before Alessia.

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.
