5L / 2H armor DK?

garfsbastian
so im leveling a DK ( have alrdy a vet10 temp full heavy )

IM really confused on what this DK should use.
Using 1h/shield+resto staff.
so should i go light on this? heavy?...medium?
this is will be a later on PVP char - that will do some sweres runs etc..the normal vet10 stuff.

Any help? or suggestions from known DKs around?
got intrested in this:

I used and still use 5L while leveling my dk. I went 2h/destro staff 1-50 and am now shield/shield or shield/destro staff. Spiked armor skill puts me over armor cap anyways. I've also leveled my heavy and medium lines along the way. Then again, I don't kill 20 mobs at a time, so if you plan on playing like that video, the heavy armor might help mitigate the physical damage.

And what about attribute points? 49 in health and put stats on armor? ( il assume you are using 5L / 2H? ) nah i really dont tend to farm like that way, but maybe a destro staff can be usefull to lvl up..
    Maybe a bit off topic.

this is probally the best way to show that 7L is viable too :) but its 7L i guess?..

I believe that spiked armor is not effected by soft caps which means that you can reach the hard cap using spiked armor if you wear heavy armor. This will be important as a tank to reach not only the soft cap but also the hard cap.

I tested it a few times but need to re-check it.

Yes, if I am to tank a dungeon, I would wear 5 heavy and 2 light. For leveling, dolmen and world boss tanking, delves, etc 5L has worked well for me because the light armor passives are nice (heavy armor passives could use a little buff imo). I put all 49 points into health and enchant my gear with magika, regen/resist, stam where needed.
