Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.
He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

I played them all since Morrowind never cared about the houses..

If you don't like RP or RPG features in RolePlayingGames (Elder Scrolls Games are RPGs...) such as housing then that's your preference, I love housing and housing is what makes the elder scrolls games much more fun and enjoyable and really adds to the immersion.
Just being able to collect books, place them on shelves, have my armor sitting on display, having extra storage, just the thought of having my own home in a MMO or Single player game...the little things like that matter to me, some people just like the pew pew pew but others love the RP in an RPG me being one of them and there are many others like me.
MMORPGs are starting to catch up...housing is more popular than you think, hech even SWTOR is adding housing soon AND the giant called WoW is finally adding housing after so many years.
It's ok to not like housing though, it's a good thing in most MMORPGs that have housing at the moment make them optional, people can play the game and never have to buy a house if they don't want too, that's the beauty of having options in video games.
Really?Player Houses?!?!?!?!

We have no firm plans for anything on housing at this time.

I've spent more time in my houses than adventuring, to be honest.
For some, it's that extra bit of immersion. With a house, your character actually LIVES there. Of course, if a player doesn't care about immersion and names their characters ixfvljes or 'IPwnNoobs', this is all lost on them.
For others, it's about ownership. Sure, it's digital, but if you live in a big city or some crappy apartment, you don't always have the ability to make your home as you want it. The video game gives them that option. For rich kids and people who look like they belong on 'Packrats', this is usually a moot point.
Some players are OCD, and must collect every trophy and piece of armor. But limited storage systems makes this impossible without also giving up the ability to play. Housing can help alleviate that. For players who skip looting things cause they just want to be max rank, this usually goes over their head.
Finally, there's players who just think that a game that gives your character's a house, is offering that much more in character customization and detail. Digital barbies, like myself. If a player is fine with 'random' character gen and just puts on best-in-slot items no matter how they look, well, you get the idea.
Sure, some just don't like housing. And some just love it. It's kinda one of those things that players just naturally polarize on. Seems a lot of players of Elder Scrolls games would want housing, though, since housing is a common feature in prior games.
It's like making a game based on Star Wars, but they conveniently left out all mention of smuggling and spice. Not as iconic as Jedi's and Stormtroopers, but still integral to the series.

Housing,
I was very upset that they didn't include it already at release. The recent MMO´s all either shipped with housing or added it in some way or another, which shows the popular demand for such systems.
In my opinion it should be on top priority right after the multi core threading issue.
