What horse to buy?

Litesek
Litesek
There are so many choices you have to make in this game, one of them being what horse to buy. I am going to play mostly pve, would that make the draft horse, only fed with oat the best choice? It feels like the point of having a horse is to move around quicker rather than getting more inventory space but when you pve you wont be needing that much speed anyway i think. And i don't feel like buying two horses, atleast not yet, because im still leveling and i don't have that much gold.

So what do you think? Should i buy a draft horse and only feed it oat or feed it with apples too because i'd like to have some speed too. Or maybe a light horse only fed with oat?

Oh and is it worth getting any stamina for the horse? I've heard it's quite glitchy.

    Buy the one that lets you carry more, the bag space is well worth it. Personally I wouldn't bother with speed, lets face it your getting on/off the damn thing every few yards anyway...lol

    Not a need, but you will be faster, won't waste stamina sprinting and you can simply run past mobs if you don't want to bother with them. If you increase carrying capacity you will also be able to carry more stuff around.

    ah right. cheers :) tbh i never sprint anyway. i havent really gotten the hang of it.

    i suppose a horse might be useful then if i dont want to bother with mobs sometimes.

    Look , i do think the best horse is the 42k speed one.

    Still , i wanted a black horse , so i got a black horse , not the best horse.

    In the end my horse wont help in combat , i can deal with it being slower.

    Buy which ever you like, as long as you understand how the mounts work in game it doesn't matter.

    You can feed your mount evey 20 hours. This is not a short term buff, but a stat increase for your mount at the cost of 250g a day for apples, oats, or hay.

    Apples = 1% speed increase.
    Hay = 1% stamina increase.
    Oats = 1 additional inventory space.

    Common Horse : 15% speed, 10 stamina, --17,200g.
    Draft Horse : 15% speed, 10 stamina, 10 inventory spaces -- 42,700g
    Gaited Horse : 15% speed, 20 stamina, -- 42,700g
    Light Horse : 25% speed, 10 stamina, -- 42,700g
    Imperial Mount: 15% speed, 10 stamina -- 1g
    Palomino Mount: 15% speed, 10 stamina -- 1g

    If you have the imperial mount or the palomino mount available from level 1 and you feed it daily then it doesn't take very long at all to have the fastest horse available from a merchant without walking and saving constantly.

    Edited for clarity.

    Well the 10% will always be there , so you wont really have the fastest mount in the game.

    Horses max lvl is 50.

    So if someone adds everything to speed on the 42k light horse , they will end with 75% speed , while the 1g horse will be at most 65%.

    The question then becomes how much those 10% matter to you lols.

    Except the max level for a horse is L50, once you level the Imperial Mount to max (49 Apples) its max speed is 64%
    Light Horse at max level, its speed is 74%

    But both horses I leveled to 50 did do something strange at L49, I feed it one apple but it got 2 speed, 1 stamina and 1 inventory space.

    Anyone else get a bonus 1 speed, 1 stamina and 1 inventory space at L49 on their horse? Which made my pure speed Imperial Mount Speed 65%, 11 Stamina and 1 additional inventory space

    I have two maxed Imperial Mount (one all speed, one all inventory space) and a third horse I am still leveling. (Gaited Horse cause its black but I should of got a Light Horse)

    For pure bang for the buck...

    1gp imp horse - bump it to 50 inventory - cheapest way to add 50 storage

    Later if you really want, you can pick up a draft horse and bump it 50 inv to have 60 (not really worth it to me) or a light horse and dump pts into spd. I honestly spend more time running than I do riding, so I havent bothered with the spd horse yet.

    The stamina horse...for pvp might be worth it, but if you have solid awareness you can balance this out.

    From a purely monetary standpoint the modest differences do not warrant spending the extra 42699 per horse rather than buying 3 imp horses.

    Also everytime you switch to the spd horse, you lose the bag space, etc.

    Only available if you own the Imperial version.

    I would so buy that horse.

    Choices are pretty simple for horses in my eyes:
    PvP= Light horse (fast)
    PvE= Draft horse (storage)

    Only thing else to factor in is the look and if that matters to you. I bought a gaited horse for one of my alts just because I liked black (although he constantly stops sprinting even w/ plenty of stam left).

    Or actually i'd like your opinion on Light horse maxed with inventory space, it would be a good choice if i both want a bigger inventory and more speed right?

    Mmm..not really. Feeding a horse something different like a light horse oats means he'll never reach his true potential (max lvl). It's not that you can't do it but consider the fact that eventually you will have more than one horse. Having both the fastest horse as well as the one with the most storage is a nice way to go. What you don't necessarily want is say, ending up with two horses, that are the master of none. That is unless the max lvl just doesn't matter to you.
