No Iron ore around glenumbra.

I'm having trouble finding iron ore around the city.I already know it's supposed to be at the base of rocks. maybe I'm just the most inept miner ever. I do have the perk to see ore better. Any ideas? Thank!

You may have to move away from the city and look. A lot of players and bots may harvest those nodes before you get there. I had better luck in remote spots, especially along remote beaches.1

@OP: no you aren't an inept miner. There's a slight problem around Glenumbra with bots which makes it hard to get any ore (or anything else for that matter) at all.
