Anti-Botting/hacking harassment

So I logged in and noticed it was night and ran to a place where bloodfiends spawn. I was then accused of botting/hacking for being in the zone. I am level 5 and in reapers march. I also explained I collect skyshards and lorebooks also. Notice I am level 5 with magelight. The person stated they are going to let a GM sort it out(report me I guess). Seems like a total waste of Zenimax resources looking into dumb reports like this. People need to educate themselves. Watch me get a ban for this while real botters/hackers are teleporting around for weeks.

If you replied to them in a tel then you've already done what no other bot can. Good luck. You might also explain to the less informed that traveling to guild members in higher level zones is free, cheap and easy.

lol, hell i backtrack for the loot alone cause its easy to get greens to break down into upgrade mats at the low lvl zones....
Been accused of botting a few times my self now but nothing have happened to my account yet and i also take screenshots of anyone who calls me a bot just in case i get a ban cause then i can report that player for harrassment

My game: Bot, Bot, Goose.

I follow, if outside, and after a bit I start to chat them up on silly inane stuff...can not say that any of this is a direct repeat, but you should get the idea.

"Hi.
How are you. Do you know what my favorite game is?
-something inane-
Only one thing worse than a bot, well in game that is...
Bot, Bot, Goose.
BOT!"

I spread the sentences out in time. I also make sure I have the name so if they disappear or teleport I have it.

Only one person ever got the Goose award, he was happy, an I never had to start to chat them up.

He beat me by responding to my following him.

It takes some time, made a friend, taught a game he was ecstatic about...

But in short, or TL/DR (What???) Be sure before you report. Many are easy, they fly, traverse through all manner of obstacles, teleport, or can be mouse while underground (lucky if head clips out).

Best of luck, you should have an easy win in undeniable proof, unlike your aggressor that doesn't know (or want competition?) about bots.

Don`t worry they check before banning you... if you for example have other character or have collected lore books bla bla you won`t get banned...

The ones that get banned are the ones running in a circle spamming the templar aoe skill or the ones flying/going under the map...

...as long as they don't ban the ones running around in a circle spamming "get this thing off me before it kills me!!!!!" i should be fine.

If I'm not sure I always shoot them a whisper, if I get no answer after about 30s then it's a report. The guy who reported you is just a noob *** who thinks he's helping... or he's just being a ***.

To be fair, your character name is long and nearly incomprehensible. It could easily be mistaken for a bot name

The guy who was talking to you on those screenshots is an idiot. There is nothing illegal about a low level character being in a high level zone - merely that this suggests that the character is a bot. However once he got a reply from you, and it became clear you are not a bot, he should have left you alone.

do you run around with a stupid name collecting everything in sight, stand in one spot waiting for a boss to spawn or repeat the same quest over and over again?

I didn't specify why I would be moved to make a report in the first place, so don't assume I would do it over nothing.

All this reporting business and bots and bugs, it really does my head in. Not cos bugs and bots exist but people being so very quick on their feet to report everything, really everything. Probably half of all the reports come from people that feel very important when they're 'fighting the good fight' and clearly not using any brain capacity like that idiot in your screenshots"oooh wadda suspicious thing right here, ima make a report" fapfapfap

If someone is acting strange (in bot-like way) I just report, report, report. ZOS will investigate before banning anyone and if I am uncertain that the person is a bot or botter I always start the report with "Possible bot..."

One thing I will never do is send someone a whisper to find out if they are a bot or to accuse them. I might go to the node they are farming and keep it open without looting it to see if they whisper me though.

I disagree. Most bots are called gihfgufhgafg and other such nonsense variations. This character has a properly thought out name with capital letters in the right places - not to mention actually REPLIES with something coherent when confronted about it.
