Really disappointed by Templar's Yellow Armor Color

When i choose the class Templar i wanted to role play as a Black Knight, i didn't knew all of its crafted veteran armors will be of yellow color as displayed in the character creation (Dragons Knights have black armor, Templar's have yellow armor)

I refused to think they actually punish u like that but its true.

All the armors you craft as a Templar will be yellow:
1. Materials you use from Dwarven Ingot up are all yellowish
2. The level of materials used only changes the aspect from yellowish to yellow
3. Improving the items will only give them cool outlines but it will still be yellow
4. Enchantments only affect weapons, armors will still be yellow



Very disappointed, i even bought a black horse. Heck, i should have bought the yellow speed horse just to math the armor.

I think the black armors you see on DK are the last VR tier upgraded to legendary. The armors they show on Templar are just a lower tier. With each tier the armor goes darker from what I have seen. My only suggestion is to try the veiled heritance disguise until you get the darker looking tiers.. It is a medium armor look but very dark. I use it over my Heavy armor . If you have lots of money you could buy Daedric motif also.

Are you saying different classes have different colors of armor? Because I've never noticed that before. Are you sure that's not just a specific racial style that's giving you lots of yellow colors?

In any case, they've talked about possibly adding in dyes to the game, so you should be eventually be able to dye your armor whatever color you want.

I am a VR10 templar, and its not yellow there.

I seem to recall that the colour of the armour is determined by class and by race, and possibly by level too.

So try getting an alt or friend to craft it for you, and it might be a better colour.

Yes, the class effects the colour, it's been mentioned on a couple of threads in CS forum, people thought it was a bug (might be for all we know).

Would love to be able to dye my armour, put Dark grey/DArk Blue on my Dunmer DK, Black on my Argonian NB, maybe a Rich yellow on my Altmer Sorc, and white on my Khajiit Templar (he's white with spots so it would match)

There is a bug with armor rarities for veteran rank gear that makes them look lower quality as you upgrade them. According to ZoS, it will be fixed with the next patch (which should be monday) That's why your armor looks washed out.

Class does not change the colour of the armor, do not know who said that but they're wrong.

If it's a bug hopefully it does get fixed Monday. If you still don't like the color at least we have dyes/tints being added and hopefully soon.

So far as a Destruction Sorcerer, male, I have had various armors, my unfavorites have been pinky pink and baby blue. Whoever picked the colors for some of the armor sets must have been a bit demented.

Uhm I think the colour varies by race? Not much yellow in my Nord Templar's heavy armour until I was about level 30 or so... And even then it is rather pale.

Dyes are coming. Be patient. Also, I am a templar and my armor is green atm.

The visuals of the armor depend on weight (heavy,medium,light), racial motif / style and quality(green, blue,..). Class has nothing to do with it.

Correct me if I am wrong.

It also is dependent on race. Breton motif cotton crafted by a Breton is dark almost black, the same crafted piece made by Altmer is light greenish.

What I haven't tested is if the Breton trades to the Altmer if the color is locked at creation or the color is locked to the character wearing it.

I had similar issue when I switched from heavy to medium armor on my stam DK, I use bright red dye and on the heavy it looked really good bright red and on the medium it looked like 200 times washed out

Sorry but classes does not have different colour. Its just on character creation. And different materials have different colours but yiu can dye them anyway into the colour you want
