Best way to approach Molag Baal Anchors?

I'm wondering how to maximize your experience with the daedric anchors. I encounter one of these things, and everyone rushes around killing the baddies, and occasionally you find an anchor point that needs to be destroyed. I enjoy the whole thing, but I can't help but wonder about the best approach that will maximize my own experience. I get into the combat, and then wander to an anchor point wondering when it will give me the opportunity to destroy it. Then I feel a twinge of guilt because other players are fighting the baddies, and I go back to the mayhem. Meanwhile, I see the anchor point is being destroyed by another player, and I wonder if I missed an opportunity to gain experience. So do you gain experience by fighting baddies, destroying anchor points, both, or just the overall vanquishing of the daedric anchor?

I just purely do it for the completion. Hardly ever get any loot and I just kill mobs and do an anchor destroy chains whenever I see them ready. Overall, anchors are completely wasted!

Agreed... anchors have sooooo much potential to be awesome in this game, but they are completely pointless after the achievement of doing them once... I expected so much more...

I do it for fun. You get good Fighters Guild XP as well.

You get an extra achievement for destroying anchor points and also for destroying the main anchor in the middle.

As for me, I'm a DK tank and while I'm running around tanking whole lot of baddies, taking them off healers and being a team player other guys destroy chains. Almost never do I get a chance to get one of them off. And, man, do I hate chain campers!
