DPS at v10?

So, I recently hit V10 and I immediately hit the ground running with crafting a set of gear. Currently I am in all blues and purples, but I have been wondering, based off of recount, how much DPS should a V10 be doing in a dungeon for single target?

Also, I really don't have any enchants yet.

You should be doing whatever DPS you do when you uninstall your damage meters and realize that fights in this game are won by being smart, not by winning at spreadsheets.

It's pretty simple. First ignore the ... challenged, who "just want to play man."

The damage you do scales directly from your maximum number. Your weapon damage is proportional to your max stamina. Your spell damage to your max magica. If you eat, enchant etc and make that number, magic or stamina, 10% larger your weapons will hit 10% harder.

Gotta say, there is no need for DPS meters in this game.
Because you might be pulling the highest DPS of your entire group and still get terrible loot.

You want to focus on finesse, that is what wins fights, that is what gets you the best loot.

Finesse? I thought it was luck, chance and AoE damage that got you the most loot

sorry finess has been mostly removed from the game ^^' it almost only left in ultimate generation... this come from a dev interview a few weeks before release ^^

now... with that out of the way... in VR 1-5 dun there are aq couple of dps run... in VR 6-10 the closest thing that come to a DPS run is the second boss of darkshade cavern (or the first "real" boss... since there are actualy 6 boss for dung but only 3 listed for the achivement...) that is the big guy that stomp on the ground... the higher your group dps the shorter the stomp phase will last... but it can actualy be easly cleared without big dps but with an high survival party (compromising the damage for more health and damage reduction in order to lessen the impact of a prolonged stomping..) or with a good healing...
there is no other boss that have timed or aggravating mechanics in the actual VR 6-10 dungeons... so an high dps is not as important... it still makes thing quick... and the more fast the boss goes down the lesser the chance for things to go wrong due to mistakes...

as a Sorc... my dps (on a far from optimized gear) is between 400 and 600 on single target... the range is mostly due to the requirment for mobility since my main source of damage comes from a casting time skill... and during some boss I'm sometime forced to interrupt the cast (better don't stay inside some AoE and lower your dps than die a stupid dead and bring your dps to "0" ^^)

what I found more important that sustained DPS in the actual VR 6-10 dung is instead the ability to do burst at comand... there are quite a few bosses that have some add mechaics where the treat comes more from the adds than from the boss himself... for example the last boss of eldedn hollow... where the boss damage on the tak is nothing much (except from the frontal blast but it's timed so that you get plenty of time to top off your tank before the next...) what may turn the fight into ugly is if the add that put a random target in fear aren't takeken care of fast enough... the tank going into fear have a good chance to loose aggro... people being in fear while the flame spawn means that they can't dodge and if the ground start to be filled with flames fears can becaome deadly... so a good burst to shut down those add as soon as they pop is better than high sustained dps in those dungeons...
