Do you need 9 points in a crafting skill to make Daedric?

Hey all, just want to confirm, thought I'd read previously that you need to have put all 9 points into metalworking/tailoring etc in order to use the Daedric motif, but saw people arguing online that it was 6 or 7- neither of them mentioned it being 9 and no one corrected them.
- Do you need 9 points or will 6 or 7 do? Just wondering if i pretty much have to go all the way to skill level 50 to be able to create the Daedric look, or if I can get it sooner.
Thanks!

Huh... I'm not 100% sure but I think you put points in to use different kinds of materials and there is no specific association of high-level mats with Daedric motif. In fact, I reckon you can use any motif as soon as you learn it.

No you can craft daeric style at level 3 and crafting level 1.
This however is very theoretical, daeric hearts themselves are rare lot, best queses is probably to farm humanoid daedra in coldharbor in hope that they drop daeric armor to deconstruct.
The stylebook itself is very rare loot in veteran zones.
Book sells for more than 100k.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I believe there is a requirement for all veteran motifs, to have either one of the (cloth/Blacksmith/Woodwork) perk 6 unlocked. In order to have low-level Daedric style, you need to first create it on said character with the perk(s). Than you can craft low-level armor for your alts or whatever.

Or so I've heard... I have no personal experience with any of these motifs yet.

There is a level requirement for all VR motifs. It was definitely 6 for Barbaric and 7 for Primal. 8 and 9 make sense for Ancient Elf and Daedric, but I haven't found those yet.

Edit: By "level," I'm referring to crafting level.

And by "crafting level" he means "the base passive skill that putting points into increases the quality of materials you can use."

You need to have 9 out of 9 either on metalworking, tailoring or woodworking pasive to learn the motif (first pasive of each crafting).

You do need to have 9 in one of them to learn Daedric, but once you learn it you can craft it with any crafting skill even if that skill is lower than 9.

I got the Daedric Motif by having Metalworking 9, but was able to craft Cloth with it even though my skill was not that high.
