Enchanting system underbalanced

Every other profession levels linearly with level if playing the game at a casual pace. However, enchanting hits a leveled soft cap somewhere right after level 10. After that, you run out of things to translate (other than the leveled items).

The problem with that is that the overwhelming bulk of your exp comes from translating. Deconning enchants gives so little exp.

I think the balance needs to shift so that deconning gives more and translating less.

Compared to deconning gear it's shameful.

Not only that, but enchanting is a heavy hit on your storage.
So is provisioning and alchemy (which both need looking at).

"But smithing woodworking and clothing has those trait gems".

Those items are shared.

You could be a smith, woodworking, and clother, and you'd have so much overlap, plus they share the much sought after motifs.

If you want to enchant and cook, you're getting hit for way more space.

On the other hand enchanting is orders of magnitude more useful than BS,LW,WW. Also you are also forgetting that leveling to 50 is not the ultimate goal of the other crafting skills. It is getting as much of the items to 8 traits which takes months and months. If they add more traits it takes even longer.
Enchanting is immediately useful and powerful once you reach max level which I agree is a pain but still easy compared to getting all traits.

A thing to note when making Enchantments is to pay close attention to the actual stats.

It was pointed out in another thread that there is a real issue with stats on white/green and blue/purple enchantments.

I believe it was white and green were the exact same stats. This was also the same for the blue and purple, or very little difference at all.

    Just a FYI.

Enchanting does seem to level slower than it should. I've been running around doing every quest, exploring every location using all my runes and deconstructing every glyph I find and it's still a couple tiers behind me. Even tried buying glyphs from other people. Still behind.

Clothing, blacksmithing and woodworking on the other hand have kept up just fine. Even getting ahead of me on a couple of occasions. But ever since I finished translating all the runes I could I just can't seem to keep enchanting caught up.

Provisioning on the other hand was really easy to get to 50. Unfortunately I seem to be having trouble finding much in the way of veteran level provisioning mats. Enough trouble in fact that I'm starting to regret spending the points on it.

And yes, I'm having some inventory issues, but that has more to do with my inability to resist hanging on to stuff for research purposes. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I have to agree. Enchanting needs looked at. I have 2 characters. One is woodworking, clothing, provisioning. The other is enchanting. Both are level 29. With only deconstructing items looted with my character that has woodworking and clothing, I'm already able to create level 35-40 items...(skill level 18-20 between woodworking, and clothing.) WELL above my current level. I also have up to 4 traits researched on most items.

On my enchanter, I can only make level 25-30 enchants (only at skill level 11 Enchanting)...And that's with BOTH characters collecting enchants to deconstruct and farming runes. Provisioning is through the roof. I think I'm somewhere around 30 provisioning right now. I can get a full level in provisioning by making 6-10 items.

Creating enchants barely moves the level indicator. Deconstructing your own enchants moves it even less. Deconstructing looted enchants moves it a little. Right now it seems that I'm about 25% of the way into 11 and I must have deconstructed about 200 enchants that BOTH my characters have collected (20-25 level enchants) It seems that deconstructing level appropriate enchants isn't giving NEARLY enough XP. I can understand if I'm deconstructing level 1-5 enchants, but these are at-level ones I'm trying to skill up on.

Another issue with enchanting is the rarity of aspect runes and potency runes. I can't skill up making runes because I'm always out of the potency and aspect runes. I have about 200 essence runes, so don't need any more of those. In fact, I think I found and translated all of the essence runes as I haven't gotten one that's untranslated in quite some time. I'm also starting to get improvement level 3 runes...which I need a skill of 15 to learn and I'm currently stuck at 11.
