Do Trophies and Pets have any inherent value?

Like many players, I grapple with space in my inventory and bank account (sounds like real life!) It's an effort to figure out what is valuable, and what is not. What should you sell to merchants? What should you use for deconstruction or research in crafting? Or what items might have some unforeseen value that you're not aware of at the moment.
Such it is with trophies and pets. I have this thing called a black court whistle(???) from doing the crow's wood dungeon, and there's some weird description of what it does, but it's clearly marked as a trophy. Is there any reason at all to keep these trophies? I don't think you can sell them. I've been reluctant to just merely destroy them because I think that maybe there's something I don't know about the game in which trophies will eventually redeem themselves for some beneficial purpose.
And the pets? I bought the early release imperial edition which came with a bunch of pets - the monkey, the mud crab, etc. etc. They remain safely stowed away in my bank account (Imagine doing that with real pets), each one taking up valuable space. Oddly enough, I feel this strange attachment to them (maybe because of the inflated price I paid for the game itself). I remember when I first started playing the game in early release, I had the monkey following me around a bit (and the mud crab in beta), but the cuteness wears off quickly.
Any suggestions as to what one does with trophies and pets?

I dont know sadly, and at this point I dont dare to delete my trophies, if at one point a trophy room comes

I have transfered all my trophies to an alt, just to keep them for the time being

I also have a trophy alt, I don't have the heart to delete the items for now at least, some of them are fun to play with but they are novelty items at the end of the day.

Pets are unique so if you delete them you won't be getting them again. Trophies don't do anything important but are just show off items. I have created an alt that holds on to all my trophies, pets, etc in case I want them later.

Quest reward trophies can be obtained again by completing the quest again on an alt.

My monkey is still very cute. And thanks to the bank bug, I now have 3 monkeys!

Yeah I do not want to delete any of that stuff for some reason...That is a good idea to make an alt to store all that! Lol never even crossed my mind.

Trophies are like little easter eggs or something, not sure how to explain them. The Questionable Sack of Meat just makes your character eat this piece of meat. A goblet makes a ghost appear in pain for a few seconds. Some can be used, others are quickslotted. The most useful is Meridia's light which is like magelight for a limited time basically.

All in all, they're pretty useless. I have not gotten rid of any however.

They are fun. I'll pull out the Crow whistle in low level area and sic the crows on a corpse. The people around have no idea.

Well, hopefully when housing arrives, trophies will be displayable therein.

I like the skeleton gem. Gave it my alt and Ive been running like a skelly for the first 20 levels. Newbies just freak out.

Trophies are just toys really. They do cool stuff. Not particularly useful stuff, but still cool.

You can get your hands on one of Hermaeus Mora's black books. Makes your character scream while he sticks his tentacles in your ear.

I also picked up an amulet that opens a whole in the fabric of the universe, and then I close it.
