What if you couldn't play in other alliances like it was supposed to be?

How would you feel if it was layed out like the original plan of not being able to go the other alliance zones? Instead ZOS had stuff like craiglorn already out but that's how you level your veteran levels, also maybe lots more dungeons.

I wouldn't have felt in any way since I wouldn't have bought the game without this feature. ;)

I don't mind getting to go to other zones to see them, but I wish they had done it differently. Perhaps the first alliance you join and whatnot is the same, the second one you then assist is slightly overrun and Bal'd up, and finally the final alliance is practically a part of Coldharbor. After all three alliances are fixed, then you do the cold harbor line.

Much too late to change all that now, and that would have been a lot more quest writing/dialogue/artwork, but I think it would have added replay value.

I would have much preferred that then. At least having alts wouldn't be so tedious, and the Veteran zones would have been substantially more creative.

Like it is now. I have all my main three in their dedicated alliance.

Honestly we do not know what they have in mind for future expansions, the ability to play a race anywhere (whether via VR or prereg) could open up some really nice content in the future.

Well for me the reason I bought the game was being able to go to the other alliances and play. Was very upset when I found out at first we could only play in our chosen alliance. On top of that the races in the alliance I wanted to play in were not ones I wanted to play. I'm very happy that all changed. I wanted to see the other areas, especially Skyrim, then I found out skyrim is not the entire map, oh well. Sure I could of rolled alts I would never do that. I stick with one character. My OCD goes through the roof trying to manage alts lol.

I would prefer it, to be honest. The current system makes me feel that my alliance choice was kinda meaningless; working for other factions feels wrong. I'd rather leave it for an alt and focus on something new with the first character. As it is, I really just want another way to gain veteran ranks without redoing all quests; maybe the exp increases in Craglorn patch will make it easier.

Nah , im happy the way it is actually , first because im not doing ANY group content.

That means claglorn and closed group dungeons are lost on me , second , i would probably not lvl a char in the other factions , since the people i know play on AD , i would just have to make another char in AD anyway , reason i lvled 0 alts past lvl 11.

So , atleast this allows me to see the other factions.

As a confirmed alt-o-holic, i would prefer it if there were no veteran levels personally.

I used to have one main but start an alt once I hit max level to see the other side, going thru all the hoops again. I am really glad about the way it works in ESO, as I can see everything with the same character and even continue improving as you still get skill points. Caters perfectly to my needs.

I would have played and leveled char to 50 on every faction.

I like the current system where I can experience all that content with one char.

Would make no difference to me. I don't pick a Char because of a starting location, but because of the RP idea behind it.

Its just the luck of the draw so to speak that my Breton is in its original "starting zone".

That said, it was quite a nuisance for someone who did RP at other games if you were forced to play as something you didn't want to, just because your char was bound to something that did conflict with its story, so the freedom at ESO is definitely not bad at all.

Me too. Much more fun to experience another alliance with a new character/class.
I think VR levels would be a nice feature provided they were completely optional and only rewarded cosmetic items, achievements, titles, nice looking mounts, etc.

I kind of thought VR was going to be optional unless you were a min/max raider, I was pretty unhappy to realise that VR is actually what this game is about (Craglorn being group-or-die VR makes it even worse) and with the Group Finder listing up to VR20 it seems the 1-50 game isn't what ZOS intend this game to be after that.

Doesn't sound like it would have changed anything for me. I have no desire to play 'vet' content. I play all three alliances with new characters in each one. Personally, by the time I get to 50 with a character, I am pretty sick of playing that 'build' anymore anyway and want to experiment with a new total different playstyle.

The concept is not bad. But the execution is very bad. Mobs in vr were overtuned i think, and they shd make vr specific quests. I am a breton and they make me kill fellow bretons which is a bit of wtf?
