Provisioning mats useless?

Just a short question. I did collect and bought all recipe of daggerfall from lvl 1 to VET6 now. I did check several AH guilds every day and still I find provisioning materials that I can´t use and where I don´t know for what it is.

After a while a friend of mine who always sells me new found recipe did give me some strange new ones which actually made some material viable for me.

But how I asked him? He said those are recipe from other factions (AD).

So.. first of all the question:

Every faction has their unique recipe?
But you still find EVERY material for provisioning in every faction?

So I have basically about 2/3 of my collected material is useless for me unless I start another character on another faction?

Can someone confirm this. That would be a joke.
Serious, I bear with a lot of bugs but this would be just plain stupid.

Or do I miss something? o.O

any help is appriciated.

I hadn't seen the above link that Andy22 posted, and there's some useful info in it, but nowhere within did I find anything about what materials are used on what faction.

This is the only thing I've ever found on the subject:

I have never found non-DC ingredients in normal region questing (Glenumbra, Stormhaven, Rivenspire, etc.). However, my DC character has found lots of non-DC ingredients in Mages Guild quests, Fighters Guild quests, Main Story quests, etc.

Also, some ingredients are cross-faction, like Broth and Stock. So a DC recipe might be Mutton + Broth, while an Aldmeri recipe with the same effects might be Liver + Broth. You should only find Mutton in DC regions and Liver in AD regions, but Broth in both.

Primary ingredients are faction specific while secondary are not. Not that it matters, each faction has its own ingredients for a recipe that does the same thing. Different name, different primary ingrediants, Papa Johns.
    PC NA
    VR1 - Jar'eed - Khajiit Dragon Knight - AD
    VR1 - Broad Tail - Argonian Templar - EP

In Auridon, you have a few quests that put you against DC or EP enemies and in those areas you find many DC or EP ingredients (they are side missions)
