Level 48 Dragon Knight Tank - Stam or Health?

I've re-spec'd my STATS once and now I'm thinking I need to do it again.

I'm a level 48 Dragon Knight Tank (my alt bar has a destruction staff and a few ranged/cc spells). I'm currently Health: 33 and Stamina:14
Armor: 1531/1540 (all plate)
Max Health: 2108/2320
Max Stamina: 1345/1765

I have the boon The Atronach (to help with Magicka recovery)
I eat a food buff before running a dungeon or questing (either inc max health or inc max stam)

My problem is I just run out of steam so fast. I'm standing there, toe to toe with the Boss, and don't have anything left to give. I've been switching to my alt bar and spamming my destruction staff ('free' hits) so my stam/magicka can build back up.

Before I spend a billion gold wiping my stats (not skills), I'd like to get some input please. I've seen people posting builds with all Health, then others with all Stamina, then some that say 50/50, or 1 health for every 2 stam, etc.

Would love to get some opinions.

    I you are running out of stam that fast then you are spamming abilities to fast. Ransack is a 15 sec taunt, don't use it less than 14 sec apart from each other, you are not there to be doing damage, you are there to be keeping them occupied and taking the big hits. Using your skills to damage the boss is counter productive.

    Spec 100% Health, magic and stam can be gotten from gear
    Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

    I got 0 Magicka, 49 Health, 0 Stamina. I make sure I got a pretty good increase on Stamina and Magicka through my gear, and eat VR5 +Sta/+Mag food each hour while running in group dungeons. I also have The Lord mundus stone :-)

    It might come down to personal playstyle and build, but I have no troubles at all managing my Stamina or Magicka during those long-lasting tanking jobs. Takes an evening tanking after your respec (with new gear) to get used to but I am glad I changed it.

    Good points. I've tanked in WoW for 8 years and I'm sure I'm spamming my taunt and burning embers (self heals and some damage).

    I want to craft either blues or purple gear with the bonus from one of the hidden crafting stations. Either Blood Frenzy (killing an opponent increases my Health regen by 50% for 8 seconds - be good for mobs) OR Song of Lamae (adds 11 Health Recovery and when health drops below 30% I deal 8-268 damage to the attacker and the same amount as a heal). Was just holding back until I dinged 50.

    suggestion? Yes...use your class and weapon skills sparingly. Use normal weapon strokes as much as possible...built up ultimate quickly and use it a lot. Most people use ultimate as a sort of rescue last resort ability. In fighting groups I use it as soon as it is ready again. My attitude is: there is no use in waiting until you die..do something before that. :)

    I spam all abilities and count on my health and reg abilities to hold my hp while I wait for recharge DK

    40 stamina, 9 health for my character. Because stamina abilities were SO important.

    I needed to make a lot of key blocks and interrupts. And occasionally roll out of the ridiculously wide, and devastating, AOE this game has.

    All main gear had health enchants. Smaller gear had stamina enchants. Eat 'increase max health' for food. With lots of health potions ready.

    Finished the game with this build without a problem. Soloing, with no fighting skills. All crafting skills.

    Only grouped for 4-man dungeons.

    All good comments and I appreciate everyone that left one.

    If I take the 14 points I have in Stam and put them into Health (14 x 15 health per point), I would be 2318/2320.

    If I did it the other way (33 health points -> stam), I'd be capped on Stam (1765).

    So the game is literally designed so you can't be capped on both.

    I think I need to find a steady supply of a food and flask buff (even from a vendor, but maybe I need to learn a purple recipe and farm the cooking mats) and crunch the numbers factoring in the food/flask buff.

    Thanks again - if anyone else wants to weigh in. I've seen both extremes here as I've seen elsewhere - either all health or all stam.

    As others have said you are probably using too many skills to often. Save your blocks for the big attacks or low health. Wait for the timer to run out on your taunts. Save your magic for self healing and aoe roots like burning talons.

    In the meantime use degeneration and spam light attacks for the self healing proc. Degeneration is a cheap cast and gives you two free guaranteed heals with the additional chance to heal on attack.

    (if you are still running out of stamina you could also try using inner beast if you run out of regular taunt juice)

    Degenegation def seems worth using!
    I don't have any points in it currently but I will drop the 2 points when I get home.
    Thanks to a million Lore Books read across the continent) I'm pretty high in the Mage Guild.

    I need to run some more public dungeons, as I'm only at about rank 2.5 in the Undaunted.

    I love tanking but have been hesitant because of the (lack of) AoE taunt.
    I'm just not use to losing aggro. I don't like Bad Guys knocking my DPS and Healer around.

    But now that I know it's just the way things work, I'll run more dungeons.

    I'm by no means an expert; but I'm going 2/1/0 roughly in health stamina and magicka respectively.

    my magicka gets covered by provisioning, equipment and the fact that I play breton with 5 heavy, 2 light armor pieces.

    only at lvl 26 with her so far so it is by no means a full experience yet, but so far this seems to hold up pretty well
