Enchantment Hireling Chests.

Is anyone else getting 0 items EVERYTIME they open their Enchantment bags?
There has been some talk about issues with Hirelings and this was mentioned that it happened occasionally, but I opened about 5 enchantment chest over the weekend and every single one gave nothing at all.
All others worked ok.

I've never gotten nothing, however, I know my blacksmith has gotten several gold improvement resources and a number of purple and blue from the hireling, yet my clothier gets absolute junk! Rarely even a green, I think I got a blue once.

Course, I read something about a bowl of cheese in the starting cell the other day, and although I'm fully aware it is the stuff of urban legends, I also know that sometimes a character does seem cursed in MMORPGs, so it could be that and not the hireling.

I know my friend looted like 7 blue items before I ever got my first. Then he started looting purples long before me as well. Random can be very random I guess. I know Apple once had to make their shuffle mode less random because so many people complained about it not being random.

My blacksmith has received cloth crafting mats as well as runes from her bags today.

I have a theory on this one; what you get from the box is based on the primary passive of that craft.

E.g.: If you have Tailoring 9/9 in Clothing craft skill line, you will have a better chance to get high level mats.

This assumption is backed by my clothing and woodworking getting a lot more yellow/purp mats than my blacksmithing, although blacksmithing is leveled around 30ish, yet has no points spec'd.

I think having the extraction passive 3/3 might also contribute, but that's a wild guess.

I am at Enchanting level 22.
I find it that hardest to level. At 22 my Hireling can only be level 2.
All my other Crafts are very high so I do occasionally receive Purple and Yellow.
I receive nothing at all from Enchanting bags.
When I was lower in my other crafts I received lower quality materials, so I figure at Enchanting level 22 (so I have some passives unlocked) I should at least receive a few Ta or something.
No, nothing.

This sounds like a bug then, because my enchanting is in the high 20s and I definitely get even kuta from it.

Just opened another one, so that is 5 Enchanting bags in a row that have been empty.
My Wood and Cloth were fine.
So yeah, think I need to submit a report : /

The other day someone posted a thread where they surmised a character's entire karmic fortune was irrevocably tied to whether or not a bowl in the starting cell contained cheese.

An empty bowl being a dark omen warranting not only a reroll, but prayers for absolution as well.

well a bowl of cheese is a sign from sheogorath to signify his blessing to the player so I can totally follow that.

Had the same problem with a lot of empty boxes when I opened the box from a "wrong" alt. If I open the box with the char that has the enchanters hireling it always worked for me.

I was assuming that the empty container was because I was trying to open it on the wrong character.

I discovered that it is best to open the boxes on the character with the high number of skill points spent in the crafting line. I have been slowly migrating my crafting to a single abandoned templar character (as she has a bunch of available skill points) and noticed that when I open woodworking email attachments I get a few low level logs every single time. I have also noticed when opening them with a character that did not originally recieve them there is a lag on when the items appear. If you open them right away for example they can be empty, I think it has to do with the 'item database' syncing up with the email database (making huge assumptions here).

This whole hireling thing is really screwed up. My enchanter gets blacksmith containers, A LOT, lol, some of my hireling toons go literally days with nothing, and then other days I get a bunch of containers on a lowbie alt who doesn't even craft.

Not to mention that sometimes (even when the right crafter gets the right container) they're empty, and other times there is only 3 ore in it or 3 of whatever the most basic other crafting mat I could pick up in two seconds myself without wasting a point is.... You get the idea. I give up on hirelings. I may respec out of them again, but it's going to cost a lot of gold at this point as I have three main crafters, and two out of the three craft multiple lines and some have more than one hireling.

No, but I fired my guy, literally set him on fire and yelled next, he's one of the skeletons you see all over the place by now- Will teach him to bring me one triangle X3 when I have 3 points invested.

i just opened 7 enchanting hireling chests and they were ALL empty. I am peeved off.
