So I should save my CE maps until I hit those zone in veteran levels

So I know the CE treasure maps are keyed to the zone level, but someone said that if you use them in the zone when you get there in veteran levels from another faction it's keyed to that level instead of whatever level you go through it in the original faction.

Is that true? Should I save them until a character hits there in veteran levels?

What about normal treasure maps. Do they work the same way?

Using treasure maps in a VR version of a zone will grant you loot of that VR level. I believe the same will be true of normal treasure maps, since it's always keyed to the character you have the map on when you find the treasure.

Yeap like said above , they do give VR gear if you are in the VR lvls.

If you want to save your maps or not , that is up to you.

It's not a big deal, so don't worry too much about it.

Odd, people said the exact opposite in my thread about this.
    :s
Take a pick guys, are the damn maps bugged in VR or not? :\

The maps work in VR zones, I used all CE maps on my first character.
The point I was making is that the loot the chests give is really negligible in the long run.

I used all the CE maps for Ebonheart while VR. The chests do contain VR ranked loot. Using them with different characters or with just one VR is not a big deal though. The loot is irrelevant and the best thing you get out of them are the blue improving materials if you deconstruct them.

Well @sarnox‌ seems like the don´t work in VR Zones as @JosephChip‌ just explained about the non VR-lvl loot drops.

And yes, people like me do worry about these things.
Not the least because they are supposed to be a non-trivial feature of our pre-PAID game.

Also I seem to have really bad luck with the frikken things, just got 2 blues out of the first 6 maps. :(

Not sure where implicitly @JosephChip was indicating that they aren't working, because he said that he got VR loot from them.

Just to make sure the point comes across: the CE Maps work in VR Zones and give VR-lvled loot in them. When he said that the loot is irrelevant, he means exactly what I meant in my previous post; that is that the little loot you get from the chest, although vr lvl, is no different than a random green or blue item as quest rewards (which you will be doing a lot of, to level up). Think of it as an extra 50 gold, and some crafting mats instead, which you can get from killing a few monsters as well.

So if you're worrying about when to use the maps or how to distribute them amongst your characters throughout your various play-throughs - do I use them now or save them for my alt in VR which will enter this zone later? - then stop worrying. Just keep them in bank or on an alt, and when any of your characters is doing an area that you still have a map for, just let them use it.

The only reason you really want to hang onto those maps, is for the achievement, since you'll get some easily picked-up chests. Hence why I see them put to better use on the same character. The "reward" for the CE edition, really is just the hunt for the chest, but I'm sure that most people look up the locations anyways.

Hope that helps and clarifies it now.
