VR content levels or tiers of gear

How do you view VR content.

I have always seen VR content as additional, incredibly long levels, which are required to get to end game (what will be Craglorn, when it comes out).

As there are no stat increases at all, im starting to see it more in terms of what other games have done with end game content. Im now thinking that its not levels at all, its tiers of gear, as that is all that improves from one level to the next.

How do other people view VR ranks, is it 10 additional level before you reach max level or is it 10 tiers of gear, which you need to grind out, before progressing to the 11th tier of gear, that will come with Craglorn.

Yes im bored :)

Only Vet 1 atm so don't know anything for sure. However, I believe the situation is pretty much as you put it. In more traditional MMOs where you'd complete group content to advance through the tiers of gear, here you just quest through a more punishing version of the other factions' content (with a rationale that doesn't even bear thinking about).

As I slog through VR content which is enjoyable some of the time, at the same time I feel that it is sucking out the joy I would have had rolling an alt.

If anyone doesn't think alts lead to subscriptions, look at WoW where many people have > 40 alts (max is 50) and many players openly brag on the forums about having a dozen or more max level characters.

Actually there are stat increases +10 Mag/Health/Stam per VR level.

I certainly did not notice that at all. Others are saying they watched for it but it did not happen. Is there anyway of confirming this?

I see this whole topic from a Char development point.

At WoW you only raid and the only thing you get from it is an achievement, a pet or mount and maybe a title. Your char however, doesn't improve in the slightest bit.

Vanilla at least had spell tomes that we could find while raiding, but that was the only thing we gained in that respective area.

At ESO VR´s actually make our Chars better and stronger, we not only get new skill points, but also all the other stuff that wow offered only in raid dungeons. The freedom to do what we want to do is amazing, we don't have to do the same daily quest or raid, no we can travel through a living world and quest wherever we want to.

This is especially great for alts in the long run. At wow making an alt was pretty much a nuisance, as every alt was sooner or later stuck at the same quest hub, repeating the same 500 daily quest´s for months and / or raid the same instance every week. But the worst was, our Chars didn't gain anything from all of that.

A Char that dinged 90 is the exact same like one that did every daily, raid or quest.

With VR´s we will actually get away from those mistakes at WoW and with new skill lines coming, our Chars will always be improving and this is one of the most important things for me in an MMORPG.

With the dye´s coming and many other features we will be able to actually identify a player based on his status, there will be a difference between a new level 50 and an old one. Not only will the old one be a lot stronger and versatile, no he will also be able to actually go to places, where the new one cant yet.

VR´s therefore are a great idea and go back to the basics of MMO`s, where a Char development is steady and doesn't end with max level.

WOW has more starting zones however it merges to 4 after level 10-20 and 2 at level 30-35, only one after level 50.
However wow has more ways to get to level 90 than questing.
One benefit of wow stating zones is that it feel different then starting out.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
