Why does Deadric style armor in TESO look horrible compared to Oblivion or Skyrim?

While I like the look of the Daedric Armor now...I would LOVE to be able to craft the look of the 3rd pic you have up there.

I'd BUY that motif style from a ZOS approved cash shop....

the only thing i think needs to change is better looking pauldrons, and a more.....concurrent style of coloring. all these different awful colors for daedric armor, green at vet rank 7, really needs to go, it needs to stick with classic red and black/

They need to change the looks of Heavy armor so it looks like a real Daedric armor from Skyrim.
One of my friends made a full set of heavy armor and traveled over to the rest of us for show.. first respond he got was '' dude you look like one of them robots from Power Rangers''

not skyrim, there is too much skyrim in this game, id rather see the daedric armor from morrowind, or other previous games. as it is, this game has to much skyrim and not enough oblivion, morrowind, or daggerfall.

id honestly love to see an add-on that changes the user interface to something that resembles morrowind or oblivion more.

The actual model of the armor is not bad, it could use some more aggressive inspiration.
But the most accurate comparison you can make is to Morrowind Daedric.
Which is a bit more smoother. that Oblivion and Skyrim.

Essentially what throws me off about ESO Daedric is the blue colour, Im terrible at photoshop so I wont upload my image, but if you replace the blue with a dark purplish red and you make the trim darker with a slight tinge of red this armor looks very close to what is should, and by MMO standards, pretty amazing.

Pal... I loved Daggerfall... more than Morrowind actually, I've played it for like 5 years... but that's a game from the late 90s. Apart from the ratings the biggest difference between the metal equipment of different tiers was the colour!

I think the reasoning for the blue coloring is so that it fits with the rest of Coldharbour but yeah I agree it needs to be red and black with better shoulders, it just doesn't look aggressive enough.

They've confirmed they are working on some kind of dye system, but no time frame on when it will come out. Could be shortly after 1.1 or 6+ months from now. I'm hoping for the former.

2h weapons impossibly large to wield? Sure! Tight, creaky leather that inexplicably improves your stealthiness? Absolutely! Absurd, liability prone plate designs? So long as they're concealing and no molded chest then A-ok! Skimpy armor? THAT'S UNREALISTIC! <_<

The armor looks perfectly Daedric. It's just the player-made color schemes are all over the place.

They need to be dark metallic blue/purple to fit the Coldharbour scheme. Where in Oblivion the green and brown came from is beyond me... So long as you keep it white - blue quality, the armor color looks decent... weird I know.

In my opinion, all heavy with the medium helmet looks the most Daedric and exotic(think Sorcerer's bound armor). The Daedric heavy helm is too brutish for my tastes.

casue skyrim was a single player game with much better graphics than eso. a mmo is very dumb down regarding graphics and details. BUT i agree it could have been done better.
Hota'h, Dual-wield/bow full medium armor NB Khajiit from day 1.

Yeah it looks alright, apart from the Helmet.

The thing is the Daedric look has never sat still, and this is miles better than the Oblivion version.

Well, Skyrim had better Daedric armour than Oblivion (better Ebony Armour too, but Oblivion's Ebony armour was decent, unlike Oblivion's Daedric).

Mind you Oblivion had better weapons than Skyrim, I wouldn't mind seeing weapons inspired more by Oblivion.

Daedric armor in TESO = inspired by Deadric Prince Molag Bal, cold colors, mostly blue and steel (Coldharbor)

Deadric armor in Skyrim and Oblivion = inspired by the realms of Mehrunes Dagon, "hot" colors, reds and oranges, jagged ridges like lava gone cold

Because Daggerfall was the second ever released TES game and they probably didn't quite know what they were doing in terms of lore. They probably thought "Hey, that looks badass"

I dont think the skyrim armor is inspired by Mehrunes Its too dark and black prodominately and doesnt have as much red. I cant say which deadra prince it looks more based on, but Im not thinking Mehrunes. The color scheme just doesnt feel the same as it does for the Mehrunes inspired armor in oblivion.

but yes the deadric armor in ESO does look inspired by Molag Bal and coldharbor.

My biggest issue with the Daedric armor in ESO is that it isn't "dark enough", if that makes sense? It's too clean cut, and doesn't look like something forged in the planes of Oblivion/Coldharbor. I get the whole "inspired by Molag Bal" thing, with colder colors and whatnot, but that's about it. (plus, the helmet kinda looks like a grasshopper...)

(And personally I prefer the Daedric armor from Oblivion.) ;)

Well red/black is a pretty generic 'badass' combo, but otherwise I don't get your point.

Doesnt matter, all the armor in ESO looks awful anyway. Damn Bethesda and their cheap skin-armor (dont know the technical term for armor that just changes the skin instead of being actually modeled seperately).
All the Armor looks like Spandex, even the heavy armor.
And whats with the green? In my world, only nature and Hulk is allowed to be green.

What about Robin Hood he wore green (although not when played by Kevin Costner), which is a bit funny since in the original tales they all wore red tights (Will Scarlett wore Scarlett which is another shade), great for camoflague.

I think it looks okay. But ALL the helmet Designs could use a rework. The only one I find half way acceptable are low level Pact. Although the chin protection looks horrible still... And Orcish armor.

The last TES game I played long enough to obtain a Daedric Armor was Morrowind... :D

Personally I think the Daedric Armour in ESO should look like it does in the trailers which, as soon as I saw it, I really wanted to get my hands on.

I'm not too concerned with bound armour as with it just being magical armour it should look different anyway. The way it is now though is terrible and the colours are just all wrong. I love heavy armour in games like this and Daedric has always been a personal favourite, as well as the heavy Ordinator armour in Morrowind which for some reason is now a medium armour in ESO.

At the minute though I'd rather wear a full set of heavy Imperial or High Elf as both look way better than the Daedric model we've been given.
