I been trying for days to get just 1 motif and I'm getting NOTHING! Every house/dungon I search I come up empty handed.......80$ for this grief! Wanna nerf something....fricken nerf the damn lock picks!!!!!!!!!!! >.<

Avidus✭✭✭There is no shortage of them, nobody care for basic motifs anymore, I don't even try to sell them, i just GBank them.
However the rare Motifs are less common than before, But I still manage to obtain barbaric, so im not phased.1 -
Blade_07✭✭✭✭I appreciate a good challenge and dont want to get things easy in a game and its really cool when I finally get that reward I was working so hard for. But been at this for a week now and nothing to show for my hard work. Really want the motifs so I can make some cool looking gear! Just think the drop rate is to low. I think there are a great many things they need to be working on other then nerfing things for now! Yep I can't complain about my drop rate, probably managed to fit out a good chunk of my guild with the ones I've dropped. Not picked up any of the special ones yet, but no biggie. I'm willing to wait.

Zancont✭From my observation - they are tweaking things without telling us anything.
Before last maintenance a lot of containers showed "loot" but 40% were empty and 40+% had lockpicks withe the remaining items being trash.
After last maintenance less than 15% off them resulted in "empty" and I found 4 blue recipes and lots of green ones and yesterday evening within 1 hour 2 regular motifs. Whereas one of the motifs was in a "strange" container - an urn - never expected to find one in there.
Prices for regular motifs are falling towards 2k line which is caused either by drop rate of motifs improved or drop rate of game submissions increased.
What's about the uncommon ones - they are intended to be acquired in veteran ranks, but there are people having the funds to ask for them in a lvl range they can't acquire them as loot - this makes them even more uncommon. Typical market mechanism - demand >> supply - prices sky rocket.0 -
eNumbra✭✭✭✭✭Played from early access on, in the beginning I pulled about 4-5 motifs each day I played on my main. No farming done, just checking every container whenever I entered a building.
Didn't get to VRs on him until right around the drop nerf. I haven't seen any Motifs in VR and I'm up to VR 4 now, and I've seen a few green recipes if that(still holding on to a bugged blue recipe). Now there's one thing that directly affected my ability to pull motifs and that's the fact that VR levels still drop their original provisioning mats, to which I turned off auto-loot and eventually practically stopped bothering with containers altogether; if 99.99% are dropping trash, or empty why bother?
As for my alts still rolling through 1-50, I've seen one motif in two weeks.
Don't care about primal, don't care about barbaric, don't even care about daedric. All I want is ancient elf, so if one of you could point me towards the "right places" to be farming I'd be much obliged.2 -

It's not just provisioning.
On my EP characters (three of them) going through the starter islands and up through stonefalls, I had a full jewelry set by level 7 or so from quest rewards (one of the very first quests in Davon's watch gives a blue ring), i had glyph drops out the ying yang (on all three). On my DC character, didn't get a single piece of jewelry from quest until I did the first harborage quest around level 8. I hardly ever get glyphs, ever. I think in 10 levels I've deconned maybe 8 glyphs from mob drops.Edited by Drachenfier on May 12, 2014 4:06PM0 -
No they lowered the drop rate. It's in one of the patch note. 1.0.7 I think.Just finished my new signature......Images are not allowed in signatures. Remove them and save to keep the changes.0 -

Same if not even longer. It is funny too. I got 8 out of ten commons in no time with virtually no overlap. The ninth took a while and I still am missing the 10th.
For the lower level player crafters I run into, very few seem to have learned any motifs. I have been wondering if maybe the drop rate for the common and rare motifs were modified soon after release to the point they hardly drop at all now.0 -
