So Holidays?

So, I remember a while back hearing a ZOS developer say that ESO would have holidays similar to holidays in the real world in it and or have special in game elder scrolls holidays. Has this idea been scrapped, or do you think it will be implemented in a special "holidays" patch?

I love holiday events in MMOs, but I just can't picture any of them really fitting in here. Most MMOs began as MMOs (Everquest, WoW, etc.) and not single player games, so none have the long pedigree of game history that ESO does. And never has there been a single holiday celebrated in any Elder Scrolls game previous to this that I can think of.

In their latest Q&A topic, with TESO ELITE I believe, they said they don't plan any special holidays which makes me a bit sad as I like such events but then again, as Thesiren said, hard to picture it in Tamriel. That said, I liked the Nords' celebration in Windhelm or that fun little isle east of Ivarstead in The Rift with all kinds of contests and tests. Such occasional faction/race specific events, however, would be nice.

Within ES lore there are holidays and festivals etc..it would be great if the game can adhere to this :)

I would especially like it if they used holiday events that didn't happen at the same time as other MMO events, that way we don't have to choose between the two, we can do all of them. :)

There are so many events & holidays in ES lore. Wish they would implement the appropriate ones in-game. Check the below link.

Valaren Arobone - Dunmer Flamewalker - Master Woodworker, Provisioner, Assassin

    V'orkten - Redguard Swordmaster
Finnvardr the Frenzied - Werewolf Berzerker

The problem with holidays at other MMO´s has always been that they forced players into participation.

It either was about mounts, pets, titles or even loot.

What I could think of however are lore specific happenings, like flowers that only come up when the moon is shining, animals that reside on an island that you can only access during low tide etc.

Having something like at wow the spring festival as example is a bit hmm. While I never disliked the idea it was just a huge grind about doing the same daily quest for several weeks to get a new shiny epic and if you didn't take part in it or missed it, you had to wait a full year.

Events are good, but I wouldn't base them on a holiday but more a sun / moon constellation

Holidays in TESO must be original lore connected holidays folks!
