End Game Reward

I just finished the 'end game' - kicked Molag Bal's butt - had a blast! My hat's off to the dev's - I've had a genuinely great time playing!

One small, constructive request (sorry!):

There were at least one mission that. at the end, we were given the ability to chose what type of weapon I would like to have as my 'reward' for finishing the quest. I would have loved this option at the very end of the lvl 50 content.

Reason: My character defeated the Bal (ha!) mainly with my bow (with secondary weapon as duel wield). At the end of the quest I was awarded "Sword Saint's Blade" - a two handed weapon (something I really didn't plan on using for this build).

Just felt a little anti-climactic. Sorry. Don't get me wrong - defeating 'The Bal' was FUN!!! Just would have been MORE FUN if I could have chosen a wicked cool bow. :)

Thanks again for a great storyline (Daggerfall - can't wait to experience my the next alliance story line, which of course I'm taking my time on choosing).

Can't wait to see what awaits the future!

congratulations!!! Pay no mind to the poster who just tried to rain on your parade. That would be great if we could choose a weapon at the end of that quest.

From what I've gathered, you get a different weapon based on who you sacrifice at the end. I know I also got the 2h sword and sacrificed Sai who wields a 2h sword. Someone in my guild said they got a staff which I assume he got for sacrificing the Prophet (whatever his real name is).

I haven't confirmed this yet as my 2nd character hasn't beaten the game quite yet. Maybe in a few days....

The name "Sword Saint's Blade" should have been a clue. No need to play through twice to confirm: the weapon is based on who you choose to sacrifice.

Yes every character you 'sacrifice' you get their weapon of choice as the reward.

Meh... That kind of sucks. Only in the sense that not all of us want to do a search on the logistics of either 1) how to kill Molag Bol - or 2) what you'll get if you sacrifice a particular companion.

Some of us just want to play to experience the story - waste a fun story line from the dichotomous 'helpers' / 'spoilers' that post the 'solution' in their blogs.

Don't get me wrong - I appreciate what they do (especially when you have a suspicion that something is bugged), but when it comes to end game, I want to 'experience' - not use the 'cliff notes' (did I just date myself - damn!).

A choice would have been nice - either weapon, armor, or 'special' ability (even if only cosmetic). Again - just feels sort of anti-climactic.

Incidentally - I wouldn't say no to something 'retro-active - even if it were part of the 'end game' quest that I suggested in this post:
