PLEASE DISABLE ALL ADDONS IF YOU ENCOUNTER PROBLEMS

Almost every time there is a patch, some addons do not work as intended. Giving error windows pop up etc. After patch 1.07 I experienced constant disconnects trying to log into the server after character screen, long loading screens (more than usual) and even game crashes (for the first time live).

At first I thought the patch was a buggy patch and was like omg beta once again. But then I sat down after several tries and thought, "what if I disable the addons at my character selection". Did and all my problems were gone.

Then I started to enable in game one addon at a time. I have installed around 15 addons. All work well until I get to the ESOHEAD addon. Trying to enable this addon would just kick me out of the game. A long loading screen will appear and the just gettting the connection error. Trying to log in with the addon enabled from the charater screen would just give me a long loading screen followed by another connection error. So the only way I can log in and play the game as usual is not enabling ESOHEAD.

I have posted about ESOHEAD in a few other threads and I do not want to discredit the addon but its the reason "for me" that I had been having problems after 1.07 patch. I think the addon on some machines like mine might be affected. In any case, I would exort you to disable all addons after this upcoming patch and see if you don't experience any problems. Then enable 1 addon at a time.

Best Regards.

I was afraid that this might be the problem I am facing. I can log IN with little problem, but when I go to log OUT, sometimes the game immediately locks screen and sometimes it gives me a 10-second countdown (I just assumed I was in a 'safe' area so it had no need to count down in those cases)...

But then the game CONTINUES to be locked. If I waited long enough, I got an Error 303, server timeout. I got tired of that, so I started just using Task Manager to kill ESO and re-launch it, as that was faster.

I sent in a help request in-game and one of the things they suggested WAS to disable add-ons. I had suspected that might be an issue (I run SEVERAL) but it seems weird that they would cause a problem ---- I mean, the whole "selling point" was that these were JUST UI mods and not "proper" mods like Skyrim and other TES games offered. Which made sense, of course, but if they ARE "just" UI mods, why are they causing these issues? Looks like they're accessing things they should not be ABLE to access, if it causes connection issues.

In any event, I'll try the disable-all, enable-one-at-a-time trick and see if I can find the culprit. Cannot imagine which one it is, off hand... clock display? Display the motif style of items? Reticle color changing? Anyway, thanks for confirming that this CAN be the issue.

When an mmo has a major patch, update your addons. Standard operating procedure for any mmo.

The good addon writers are usually on the pts checking to see if something in the patch will break their addon and they issue updates if it does.

I was unable to enter the game for 4 hours and found this post. Disabling ESOHEAD resolved the issue. Not that I have the latest version of the Add-On from Minion, and this problem is present.
