Dungeons and the issue of including a story.

To me, gameplay is key of course, but second to that, it is the story that matters to me. But in this game it is pretty much impossible to experience the story in dungeons because people keep skipping everything. It is very annoying and game breaking to me. sometimes I can listen to the dialogue and let the group go ahead, but that makes me feel like an annoying player who keeps the group waiting. But sometimes I can't even get the dialogue because players skip through it and just starts some event. There should be some kind of ready check before this can be done.

I hate to bring up another game, but SWTOR actually made this work with their group dialogue system. You could not skip stuff if not everyone agreed to it, it may sound selfish, but I am in this mostly for story so this kind of breaks dungeons for me.

I wish they made a solo version of all dungeons that has worse loot but is doable without a group so I can experience the story. Or just make dungeons without story, because it never works well with other people.

I agree, and someone in another thread, or made a thread, about a certain quest npc and intimidate options that are broken, or don't make sense, and I agree with that too, npc's that violate your moral stance should be able to be killed if I disagree with what they're doing, I shouldn't just let them walk away and get away with what they've done.

I also wish there was a way to read the dialogue in dungeons but I'm not sure what would be the most efficient way to go about doing so. People who do multiple dungeon runs for loot, xp or whatever else motivates them won't want to sit and wait for everyone to read their quest dialogue every single time. On the other hand, it's unfair to force players to skip the story on their first visit and so I see but one possible solution: pre-made groups. Find people that are either experiencing the dungeon for the first time or don't mind waiting a bit for you to read.

I tried reading through the dialogue on my very first run, assuming people would wait, but that didn't go as planned. It's even worse if you're the healer <.< Now I just skip dialogue as fast as my finger can click the mouse. It's not that I want to skip the story, I just don't want my team-mates to die.
