Bash 3 Second Cooldown on PTS

I understand nerfing it...make it cost more or reduce the damage....but a 3 second cooldown?

This goes against everything ZOS said while in dev that this is not supposed to be a time based cool down system.

If it goes through with a time based CD I am gone...I wouldn't care if they nerfed the damage to do 5 damage per bash...going back on your fundamentals and your word as a dev is enough for me to want to leave.

    Several posts on this already, but yes, I agree. If they start down this path, it will destroy the fundamental principles of what they said and it would change the game play for the worst.

    I have no doubt a lot of players would leave if they decided to start putting in cool downs on skills, it's not right and frankly from a design point, poor decision when the community has given them a ton of feedback and viable solutions on this and many other issues, which they seem to completely ignore.

    Probably an unintended bug after the latest build, they're already nerfing it via the bash jewellery bug fix + reducing the stamina reduction deadly bash provides.

    Hopefully that's true and this doesnt go live. Bash is the only thing keeping my nightblade from being completely worthless.

    Give it a 1.5 second cooldown IMO, you're supposed to shield yourself with that thing anyways.

    Making it something like 1 or 1.5 seconds akin to the shorter cast time spells like Crystal Shard seems reasonable enough. It would cut back the bash spam, not be cripplingly long, and from a logical standpoint would make it feel more like a "wind up" between bashes than an artificial cap.

    Yes give Bash a Cast time, not a Global Cooldown. Besides Cast timed spells/abilities feel more real in the game then the Instant pewpew ones.

    Personally I found both the complete lack of cooldowns and the lack of an aoe cap to be the biggest draws to the game for me.

    It would suck if they fixed an overpowered mechanic in such a lazy way, but people need to seriously re-evaluate things if they're considering it the end of the world. It's ONE cooldown.

    You're wrong. No cool downs is a core principle of the game mechanics. You don't want it to be but it is.

    You're off your rocker. If you were privy to the various beta builds this game has gone through you'd eat your hat. The game has looked like TEN completely different games throughout it's beta phases it has changed so much, and almost all of it was do to player feedback and outcry.

    You can knock Zen for a lot of things, but they listen to feedback.

    I tested it on the PTS. There is NO cooldown currently on the PTS. You can still spam bash. I don't know who said there was a cool down.

    Sorry if I tagged you again from the other thread. Trying to douse this fire.

    I heard this also, and was really surprised to hear about any CD going into the game. As a game dev myself, it makes no sense. You don't design a whole system around not having CD's, and then say oh we don't know how else to fix this so we are going to add a CD. That's a really dangerous road to go down, and I tend to believe that it is just a rumor until someone proves otherwise.

    Well since there was no change and all of this is because of someone that had been misinformed nothing could have gone live. Also they've shown they don't listen to feedback by adding target caps to abilities that didn't have them instead of removing or increasing them.

    To help hammer the point home:

    THERE IS NO COOLDOWN ON BASH

    I just got off the the test server, and I could bash all I wanted. Anyone who says that there is a CD on bash is either misinformed at best or malicious at worst.

    Agreed. Much preferred a repeatable that I could pick up at any time and just travel right back to the fight.

    Or even better, no quest, and just giving the proper rewards for kills instead of the back-and-forth that the 20 kill quest had us doing. That quest completely ruined the moment of PvP, because if you didn't hand it in right away you were wasting kills. All of the alliance/experience points should be rewarded to the player while they're out in the field. The loot bags are also a let down, I've never gotten anything other than green, meanwhile pve can get up to purple as drops.
