I want to make a bow user

rangerluna375
There isn't a class for a bow user specifically.

Im looking for advice on which one of the 4 classes to choose from.

Thanks.

Other than the ranged aspect of a bow user, what else do you like to do character wise? Healing? Tanking? Pure DPS? Maybe a summoner wizard with a bow? It just depends on what you'd like to get out of a bow wielding character.

I have a sorcerer with a bow in heavy and medium armor. Will it work? Not sure, but it's been fun so far.

There isn't a specific bow user class. As mentioned above, it all depends on how you want to build your bow user. Experiment and have fun. You're not restricted when building your character here.

There is no specific "class" to play a bow better.
    • Sorc has a few skills that synergize with bow.
    • DeathKnight has a few skills that synergize with a bow.
    • Nightblade has some, but they are broken and don't work.

Deathknight can do everything any other class can do, and do it better with a bow.
Sorcerer are the exception, they have some abilities that benefit all weapon skills.

NightBlade should be competitive in this area, but they are weak and broken, more than half their skills don't even work, you would just be spamming the knockback and poison arrow, and when that doesn't work, you revive at the wayshrine.

    Races wise:
    • Woodelf has a experience gain boost for Bows.

FWIW, you can also play a templar archer. My wood elf (chosen NOT for the exp gain with a bow, since that will ultimately be useless)... she conceptually deals with nature/healing magics so she has some templar heals/regen buffs, and of course the first templar snare/Dot is handy for an archer... she wears nearly full medium armor because she's sneaky (and does not really heal that much) and she practices alchemy to further the nature-centric concept.

It really boils down to what ELSE you want to do with your archer.

Now that's a nicely thought out character.

I went with Wood Elf Templar for the healing.

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm trying a Temp bow user at moment, Imperial just because I haven't used one much.

First of each 3 skill lines in use just to level em, Reflective Light so i can hit more than 1 mob, Poisen Arrow to reduce their Sta a bit as they draw in and Puncturing Strikes to deal Melee Dmg. Soul Magic cast maybe b4 that. So far i've only used Rushed Ceremony when seeing a few others taking on what looked like more than they could chew.
ZoS please understand everyone thinks and pronounces things differently, so please add to your 'rules' that things get removed if the Mod doesn't actually quite understand phrasing

I wish when you make a char, you got to read some of the lore of that race and the god they follow etc. I would of changed my pick if I knew more.... Guess I should of done more research first, but having it on the 'screen' when picking the races would of been nice

When I first found out about the Green Pack......made me glad I was not a wood elf. Oh that girl tried to the table screaming is tomorrows dinner, keeping her alive to keep the meat fresh?
