Finding it hard to keep interest in the game.

Let me start this off by saying I love the game. I love how the combat is done, and the focus on blocking/interrupting NPC's instead of just unloading all your damage and be done with it. I love the way crafting is done, to an extent. I even love lockpicking.

My problem is I can't find a REASON to play anymore. I log on, do some quests, then realizing I'm just doing the same thing over and over. Exploration is nice, but there's no real 'progress' from exploration. I'm not very good at PVP, and never have been, so I steer somewhat clear of Cyrodiil. What I love about MMORPG's is the raiding atmosphere. Getting together with a group of friends and tackling the hardest content a game has to offer. I want something so challenging it takes weeks to figure out. Basically, I play for the long term rewards.

From what I hear, endgame consists of some basic 4 person dungeons, and VR questing. Is there anything else? Or do I just have more questing to look forward to?

Craglorn is coming, so you'll get your raid-style content.

It is interesting that you feel like that, as I feel the total opposite way.

To me doing the same raid each week (done this for more than 6 years in a world class environment) is repetitive and boring as you never have something new. Sooner or later you will know every second of a boss fight, you will know every pixel on the screen :D

That said, with 1.1 you will get exactly what you desire. A whole zone for your type of player, where you can raid 24/7 if you desire ;)

However, I am afraid ESO might not be the right game for your type of player in the long run, as the Dev´s seem to not go full on Raid only content in their game. World of Warcraft or SWTOR, but also Tera & co. might be suited better, as there all Endgame plays in Raids, while ESO will lean more towards quest´s, pvp and new factions.

Craglorn will have 12 player raids from what I understood. You need to be rank 10 to enter though. Might be the raid content you are looking for though.

the best way to keep interest, set a goal for yourself. whether it be achievements and titles, wealth, legendary gear, or what ever else. something to work towards at end game.

also if your a TES fan there is tons of lore in quests and books to find, just the other day i talked to deadra spider who vaguely mentioned the aedras involvement and deadras lack of involvement in the creation of nirn. as a huge fan of TES creationism fact and theory, and subsequently the disappearance of the dwemer, i pay atention to every bit of dialog, it keeps me vary interested and keeps me playing every day.
You can have it. I don't even like sweetrolls. <Crying on Inside>

I hear you, I had a great time on my way to veteran rank 1!
I read everything and love the lore.
But aside from pvp I find it hard to log in. I don't wish to do the other alliances' quests.
Somehow Lotro always made me come back. That game had lots of fluff and stuff to keep me going.
Maybe in a few months :-)

Playing from China, I am hoping that Craglorn is not the norm of future because whilst I can group, I feel that my lag is way too up and down I I wouldn't want to wipe a group because of it.

Tried PvP for the first time last night, and that sunk like wet sock filled with stones.

SO my only option for the game is crafting for legendary gear and PvE with some dashes of light grouping mixed in.

If all future content will be grouped based like this new area, or PvP based like Cyrodiil, I am screwed...

Saying that, my broken NB ranger is also giving me doubts now, 1 month in still fishing and basic class skill broken.

I have been very patient up until now, but time is getting on now. Broken classes shouldn't even be in launch let alone 1 month after release.

It just might be then that this is not the game for you. This is TES game and MMO. Was Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim just cave and dungeon raids? No, it was quests and exploring, etc.

What you are looking for is generic MMO with TES environments mainly the caves and dungeons. There is stuff to fix in this game to make it work better yes and also maybe they should take into consideration people play styles as well a bit more.

If this game would be mainly concentrated on grouping and boss raids I would not play this. Since it is more quest oriented and being able to quest together with friends (however this part needs bit improving) I'm loving it. I cant wait to experience the full content and all quests on all factions with added difficulty of VR.

Games like oblivion and skyrim had far more replayability. They also had the ability to build a character in any way you wanted. ESO is a lot more restricted.

    1) You have to focus on combat skills 90% of the time. You didn't have to do this in traditional ES games. I once made a completely pacifist khajit that majored in speech and alteration. Can't do that in ESO.

    2) ES games are leveled worlds. You can go ANYWHERE and generally find the same difficulty mobs. ESO is a linear game where you go from here to there, and if you try to go somewhere else, chances are you end up doing something far too difficult for your level.

Replayability is kind of matter of taste so to say. I have so far 3 chars all in same dominion however different builds and they have made different choices in the quests. Of course multiplayer game needs to be more restricted.

Again we have to see that it is multiplayer game. Though I would love to hear how would you play with other players with skills speech and alteration only. Or do you try to see this MMO as single player game.

Well this again is necessary in this type of game because you cannot just scale stuff based on the player while other players are around. So you are again thinking like single player game. Basically one is able to experience all the areas of selected faction if wanted to explore. I have friend that does just this, he was lvl 16 visiting lvl 40 area just for exploration.

So what I see many people are expecting is like Borderlands 2 type of co-op gaming where friends can jump in and out of your game. Single player game with multiplayer possibilities.

So fun to read after reading about all the complains about level scaling in Skyrim and Oblivion and so
Grinding just make you go in circles.

That was damned rude. Honestly, the OP has a valid point. The game needs to be fixed and it needs better dungeons. I won't say more, I'll say, they need more thought. I love this game, having a blast but the dungeon my friends and I did was much too easy. We did 3 man, the level 32 was down, the level 13 was down, my level 15 finished off the boss and adds. I should have wiped too but I didn't.

    Makes sense, really.

Hardest content a game has to offer are other players, btw.

"You can start complaining in their forums" is rude.

The valid complaint is that the dungeons need a hell of a lot of work. No doubt about that. His complaint is that he wants to raid and that is a part of every MMO but the dungeons in this game need real work. That is his complaint.

There is a whole new area dedicated to raiding coming out probably next week and more dungeons, maybe reading the Road Ahead would have spared OP some time?

I disagree, low level dungeons are fun and can be challenging, especially if you are first time there. And AoE or a heavy attack can kill you in 2 seconds or in 1-2 hits if you are not careful.

You have a choice (not just in this game but in all of them). You can do a bunch of different quests (which are all similar, but in difference places) OR you can do the same raid over and over and over again which is exactly the same AND in the same place every time. I don't know, I guess it's up to you what you find interesting, but it is going to be the same no matter where you go.

Just returned to the game recently and discovered all these notifications from this thread on my forum account.

The difference between the same quests and the same raids, is the raids are repeated a couple times a week. The quests are repeated every 20 minutes or so. Raids also provide a goal to achieve: To clear the raid and get all the cool loot. You feel like you're progressing, you're getting more powerful, you're getting gear that is above what most other people have. This is a sense of improvement, which is what almost every game strives to achieve.
