Crafting level increments is useless.

This is one of the most disappointing features I've found as a tailor/blacksmith. The only current use to these skill lines is the set bonuses.

The difference between crafting a vet rank 1 armor set and a vet rank 5 is marginal. In fact, if I want to craft a blue set, it's a complete waste of mats!

The majority of stats actually come from enchanting, which completely devalues the worth of tailoring/blacksmithing outside 6+ trait set bonuses (which still comprise a smaller percent contribution of your damage than the raw stat boosts from glyphs).

Every level increase, and even quality, is a measly armor increase. 100 armor difference is nothing, some of us can easily cap already with spells.

And a major design flaw is that the real difference comes from legendary quality. It should actually be the opposite. The later tiers should confer the smaller boosts for min maxing, but the largest boost should be in the intermediate tiers of quality. Otherwise there's no point in upgrading your armor quality unless you intend to go full into legendary.

There is virtually no purpose whatsoever in upgrading from green to blue, and even purple quality is not even that much of a jump. You basically craft the minimum level armor for each glyph level range, without any incentive to upgrade until vet rank 10.

Tue just go green and as you go 2 levels up remake and green again
Its just big loss to go blue or purple.
Crafting purple should be more gratifying

Also drooped purple seems to lose to crafted blue sets .

I have hemmings and honing stones coming out my ears, so I remake a green set each level...but yeah, you could definitely skip a level.

I am irritated that the Vr1 armor is identical to VR2, which means it will likely be identical to VR3 (given the xp requirements I would like some visual reward).

I'm assuming it changes at VR4 since the material moves up.

I can confirm even the VR4 with diff materials is the same, so you can go ahead and assume that v10 will be the same look.

There wasn't even a change in color between v1 and v4 tier.

I'm crafting for end-game. I have hundreds of honing stones etc.. I don't plan on using them until vet level 12...

Why waste them when you get quest/dungeon drops and change gear every two levels.

Quest rewards and enchanted whites work just fine for leveling.

Because by the time I reach vet 12 I'll have my bank flooded with them.

It's not like I've wasted the purple and legendary tannins. Those I'm keeping on reserve for vet rank 12.

I'm just saying as it is, there's no real reward to jumping tiers of crafting unless you go for legendary quality. And that sucks.

The difference between a V10 drop armor and a V10 crafted armor is very little.

The 'sets' that drop are better then crafted ones, and the weapons that drop in vet dungeons can have TWO enhancements (not sure if this is a bug, but they rock!)

Even if you have only level 1 blacksmithing, you can still upgrade a V10 armor piece to 'yellow' (which is odd)

So why do crafting? I only did it for the easy gold by getting 'Extraction' to max and getting lots of 'yellow' resources from refining raw resources.

But currently I only have points in 'Extraction' and 'Research'. (except Alchemy & Provisioning which I use)

Yeah, but crafting decreases the amount of tannins required to upgrade stuff to legendary, and crafters can upgrade dropped loot. I guess that and set bonuses is the only good thing but otherwise it's a complete waste of points.

They should change decon mechanics and also refine. So you could only do this based on your skill points invested in crafting, otherwise it is truly important only to put them into improvement and extraction.
