If you like the bow, you could certainly save skill points by just having another bow in the second weapon slot. You could even load out separate sets of Bow skills to use for different situations.

When I have a different second weapon it's usually so I can put a ranged weapon (bow usually) in the secondary slot so that I can attack at range in cases when my USUAL (melee) weapon would be ill-advised. But if your main weapon is a bow, you don't have to worry about putting a ranged weapon in your other slot, and AFAIK there's no ~penalty~ for using a bow in melee range...

My question its what option of the 3 are better for area dps XD

DW would be my advice...it will still be in the Stamina tree for you (same as your bow) so it will not pull from Magic like a staff would. DW did pretty solid AOE as well with whirlwind...which will do extra damage by the time they reach you if you start with your bow.

Yeah I was gonna have my Templar have 2 roles. DPS (bow) and healer (resto staff). I however decided to stick with bow in both as once I switched to my 2nd weapon and skill sets there was no real way I could maintain magicka with both a resto staff and my class based heals. I'm only lvl 25 so I may not be doing it correctly.

Bear in mind that your armour will stay the same when you switch. As such, I'd twin a bow with another stamina based weapon.

It would be cool to have a 2nd armor set you could flip over too as well (although not in combat as that would be silly) so you could pair a stamina weapon with a magic based one.

I have a second set but four weapons: 2 stamina ones for my stamina armour set and coming2 magicka ones for my magicka armour set. But it does no good to switch to a firestaff when in stamina gear unless attacking easy mobs.

Hmmm... and in area.... its better dw than another bow?

Hmm maybe with dark exchange... you can drain stamina into health and magicka...

It's not having enough magicka that's the issue. Your magicka value also increases the amount of damage that a destruction/restoration staff does. Same thing with stamina and physical weapons.

one thing i don't like about the system...which i thought we could do, was equip the same weapon in both slots, which would allow us to just switch groups, and get a new set of skills up...like 1 set could be stamina abilities and the other mana.

So can i equip the weapon i have in 1 in 2? I thought we could do that...i'm not thrilled with the idea that we have to use different weapons if we just want to 'ability swap'....that other weapon might not be as good.

Resto staff heavy attack restores 10% magicka
