Wonder why..

In many MMOs there has always been a place in game (usually a base, or city) that you can go and gather "rested XP", wonder why they did not include this?

Because it's a silly mechanic that helps people skip content.

Not sure but I don't miss it. I get exp much too fast on this game as it is. So if they did include such a mechanic, it would encourage me to make sure I logged off outside of town. So would have the opposite effect with me.

Some MMOs have spaceships. Why doesn't ESO have any spaceships?

Man if ESO got spaceships, that would be such a plot twist! maybe that's why the Thalmor still exists 1000 years after the dominion's creation :o

    What's rested XP?

You hang about or log out in a town, and you'll get rested xp, which get you bonus xp whenever you kill things, until the rested xp goes away, loosing bonus xp.

I wonder why people can't make an actual title to reflect the topic.

OT : It is. It's called research in this game. .. and horse feeding.

Not exactly XP in the same sense as leveling your character directly but it advances gameplay.
Words contained in posts, at which point I stop reading and will not respond...
Toon / Mana / WoW or any acronym following "In ___" /
Pets (when referring to summoned Daedra) / Any verbiage to express slang (ie, ending in uz,az,..) / Soul Stone
    ... to be continued.

    Now, get off my lawn.

Rested xp is a bad design choice. Once wow added it, it forced players to log out outside of town, else they XP doubled and they outleveled content.

But even if you didn't log out in town, but in the open world you still gained some rested xp - that was so annoying :(

Ah, the customary sneer at WOW, every thread needs it.

Rested XP was added to help those unable to play every day to try to keep pace with their friends who could.

Overleveling was ALWAYS possible since there were multiple zones to level in at any level.

And the 'blue' XP you get outside of towns is minimal.

But it caused problems for people that didn't want the gain in xp.

Again a simple option to turn it on or off wouldn't be fine, that way everyone can have their cake and eat it.

I hate any kind of bonus xp, and I certainly will never use any enchant/gear that increase the xp gain from exploration. But at least the options are I the game.

The reason why wow is quoted is pretty simple, everyone played it and knows it. You also had rested xp at other games and unless you could turn xp off like at DAOC, it became quite an issue.

An issue because you had no choice if you wanted rested xp or not. If you don't play every day as I did, then you came back and had 8 bars of rested xp. There was no way to remove this, it was just there :(

I don't mind if they sell XP boost´s in their in game shop for those who are a bit impatient, be my guest really. But to force rested xp on everyone doesn't sound like a good game plan to me.
