I need a way to get a random number ingame, just like in any other MMO its a /roll function, but it isnt in this game apparently. What do I do?

You give up on whatever it is you're trying to do.

Its an addon that makes a coin toss, so why give up?

So make your own addon, but rolls are rather pointless unless you plan on opening an in-game casino with a craps table.

Not pointless at all. Most MMO's have a /roll command to accommodate groups where a loot drop would be beneficial to multiple people in the group. If I'm in a group, and I happen to loot a nice piece of equipment, but I don't need it, then it's really nice to tell the others in the group to /roll for it.

Your group is 4 people. Presumably, if the equipment isn't good for you, there isn't going to be a giant argument over who would make better use of it, especially since everyone else got drops of their own.

This isn't WoW. We aren't forced to share the loot from a corpse.

Of course it isn't WoW. And nobody is insinuating that loot has to be shared either. Quite simply, there are occasions when people in a group/raid/guild happen upon situations where a /roll would be very handy and beneficial.

But rare, especially since raids don't exist at present.

You want a solution? Tell everyone in the group you're thinking of a number between 1 and 100. They guess, and the closest gets it. But I have yet to see a situation come up where simply saying, "Who wants this?" didn't solve everything m

If I could make it myself, I probably would, but its a fair chance it already exists, and the maker probably wants to share it.

So you know every imaginable reason to have a use for a random roll, and all those are pointless, thanks for the info.

I Found one though YADE - Yet Another Dice Emulator :)

"Dice" rolls are a frequent tool of roleplayers. In text-based combat for one example, they may wish to let the dice decide the outcome of an action.

Now, you may not personally be interested in that, but to say it's "rather pointless" is a rather narrow view.

Now back on topic: @Phantorang the last time I checked all dice related addons were broken, because an API update shut down the ability to inject chat through addons for obvious reasons. I'm not sure if somebody has released an alternative solution yet.

I don't see how everybody telling the OP how unnecessary they think his desire for a dice roll is, or what he can do instead, is productive.

I know of three addons to simulate a random dice roll: Loot Dice, XDice, and YADE ("Yet Another Dice Emulator"). They're all at esoui.com/downloads/. I haven't used any of them, so I can't ouch for how they work or how they look. There are probably others, as well.

Um, try rolling a die. six, eight, ten and twenty sided dice exist, so you should be able to roll a number with them.

    Ah, I missed that.
In that case, pass. There might be an add-on, but I don't use them.

Trolls gotta troll. I guess they can't help themselves.

Btw, it wasn't "everybody", it was the same person each time.
