here it is, I have been doing 3 crafting skills, Clothing, so far so good; Woodworking is rocking along, then there is Blacksmithing.
My toon is level 17 with 2 points in Metalworking at level 5 (nearly 6) Blacksmithing, but I can't craft anything above level 14.
I have tons of iron ingots (117 of them), as well as all the Style and Trait requirements.
What have I missed?
Help please.
Thnx

You'll need high iron ore to make steel ingots for the next tier. For reference: http://eso-fashion.com/crafting-guide-blacksmithing/

And that's your problem. You can't make items above level 14 with iron ingots. Level 16 starts using steel.

Will do, thanks, I searched the Elder scrolls online site and found NO reference at all, so I assumed I had made an error, but couldn't figure out where.

Catches said so as well, but yeah, it's a nice comprehensive crafting guide perfectly suited for beginners. And always remember, destroying other peoples' work will bring you much farther than creating your own.

And deconstructing items you find from drops will provide you the highest experience. I probably got 90% of my way to level 50 from drops. If you can find a friend or Guildmate that is working Clothier or Woodworker, trade those drops for their heavy armor & weapon drops

I am reading the guide now and its a great help thanks.
Only one suggestion, I know ZIP, haven't played any of the earlier ES games. The next obvious question is, where do I get Steel, I guess I will find it further down the road?

Could you include Areas, or a map, in the guide of where the new materials are?
    Maybe........ please :)

Whatever Alliance you're in, Heavy Iron Ore, which refines to Steel Ingots is found in the next higher zone than the one that has Iron.

    waazup, this mod will help
    http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info57-HarvestMapEsoheadMarkers.html

although it won't tell you where the harvest nodes are, once you have discovered them, it will record them on you map so that you can revisit them.

lots of other neat mods on that site too.
