Do traits stack?

Let's say I have two pieces of gear: One grants 3% bonus to exploration XP, and the other grants 5% bonus to exploration XP. Will I receive an 8% bonus to exploration XP?

If the traits don't stack, which is applied? The greater bonus or the lesser bonus?
