Veteran exp gained from completed Dolmans / World Boss / Public Dungeons / Dungeons

Dear Zenimax yesterday our guild Magical had a group going trough 3 vet zones.
We completed all Dolmans / World bosses / Public Dungeons, we started early in the morning and ended around 7 hours later.
I was Veteran rank 3 with 80% level to VR4 when we started.

We completed everything from each zone so thats V1 / V2 / V3 and when we stopped i gained 8% of that level.....
I already did all those dolmans / bosses and public dungeons but still a 8% increase in exp is kinda underwhelming for all that time we put in...

I know your going to increase mob exp next patch, but you should also increase exp from doing that contend again.
World bosses give 128 VR exp if you killed it before :(
Same goes for public dungeon bosses, e meager 128 VR exp.
Currently you need 1.3 million exp to gain a level to V4 this is killing any grouping with guildy's who like to bond together and have fun leveling up.

Please make Dolmans / world bosses / public dungeons worth doing a secondtime if you choose so.
The grind is already mind numbingly boring and to break such pattern and have fun with your guild you should open up that style of play and reward time spent doing "harder" contend with the exp needed to level up.

if people find Dolmans awesome ! reward them !
if people like open dungeons ! reward them !
if people like world bosses ! reward them !

I dont care about loot !! yet ! just reward more exp !!!

according to this http://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/24hrc8/may_1_reddit_ama_qa_transcriptsummary/ they are not adjusting the pve exp gains any time soon.

Hmm i hope Zenimax knows what they are doing....
To many mmo;s failed lately and i hope ESO is not going to be one of them
But all signs are already there.
Vet contend is to boring and you need to spend a ridiculous amount of time there to gain a level.

Payed up another month, but i know many people who say goodbye already :(
I wait and see how the pvp changes in exp are going to be if its still taking a week to gain 1 vet level then i gues its time to leave the game and look forward to another mmo again...

Oh dear zenimax let people enjoy and play eso how they want to play and stop forcing people to grind 250 hours worth of quest to be on par with V10 in Cyrodiil.

I've had 10+ friends quit eso due to these vet ranks, they need to fix it asap before they end up failing. I really want to stick through it, but after 11days total play time on my character i am only half way to v6. its a horrible grind. I loved the content from 1-50. I am still debating if I should sub for this next month or not.

Aye 1 to 50 was enough, i hoped for more epic quest and bosses but alas it was good enough.
The veteran levels are just bullcrap and sucks any enjoyment out of this game.
Once the bulk of players reach this horrible grind and quit due to the insane amount of exp needed to gain a level they only have themselves to blame.

By then alot of damage has already been done i affraid..
Double exp for kills is not enough to get to V10 on your main or even your alt.

There needs to be more viable ways to gain exp instead of questing your eyeballs out.

i feel the need to chime in on this one

levelling through veteran ranks takes a long time - as there is very little xp rewarded for anything other than completing map markers - i.e. questhubs, dolmens, public dungeons etc.

i wouldn't be in a hurry to get to VR10, if it wasn't for the fact i get constantly steamrolled by VR10's in pvp. some of which hit VR10 in a couple of days, mostly by exploiting. there are others who didn't exploit but grinded all the way.

as such, these VR10's in combination with the incredibly broken vampire ultimate stacking thats been going on - pvp is incredibly unbalanced. it's expected there would be a few VR10 "pro's" who would push for world first and such, but there seems to be an incredible amount of them.

have any of those who actually exploited been punished for it? i.e. rolled back a few levels?

personally, i've found solo'ing my way through the VR content incredibly time consuming and challenging. i'm at the point where i'd almost prefer to pvp my way to VR10 - but after the many faceroll slayings i've been victim to by VR10 vampire exploiters, i feel stuck between a rock and hard place.

the balance needs to be restored. not just in terms of bugfixes to broken abilities, but also in rolling back those who have exploited as the impact they are having on the endgame content, as it resonates across the entire levelling process and makes the lengthy VR levelling zones a very heavy grind in order to try and stay competitive without exploiting.

i pushed for level 50 in order to stand a chance at pvp - when i got there, my chances barely improved. hopefully todays patch changes will redress the pvp balance and restore a little bit of order.

i want to enjoy the veteran zones and storyliines of the other factions, not feel i need to grind through it in order to not get steamrolled by VR10's in pvp. the other faction storylines are also something i like to do with alts - having no option other than to grind through that content to hit VR10, removes a little of the enjoyment from a second playthrough.

other options to get to VR10 without exploiting should be viable, not punishingly grindy.

TLDR - hopefully the vamp fixes will make pvp levelling to VR10 more bearable - but tbh i like to do a combination of both, VR content can be very grindy and unforgiving.

Before i bought the game i was under the impression that you could level up in this mmo how you wanted.
    Doing pvp
    Doing dungeons
    Doing quest
    Doing mob grinding
    Doing exploration
    Doing Dolmans
    Doing public Dungeons

This is all false.....there is only quest grind.
its fun to level up to 50 ! personal story is great !!!
but after that there is no sense of being a hero anymore your just doing other factions zone and quests who are scaled up...
It is taking ages to level up and it gets old and tedious extremely fast.
Hitting V5 and i cant set myself to quest again so i play in Cyrodiil and even with the double exp we just got from pvp kills its not realy a viable way to level...

Unless you get 2 big zergs zerging the zerg out of the zerg and keep zerging then you might get some good exp.
For capping farms and strongholds you almost get nothing.

I hope they offer more gameplay in ESO then quest grind as i dont see many people keep their sub running unless you happen to LOVE quest grinding.
Zenimax should make adjustments before the bulk of their subs reach this "i cant take it anymore" syndrome and started to look for other games.

But looking at the new patch notes i think they are not even aware what is playing in their own playerbase.
We might see a SWTOR in the making here :(

You only get the bonus xp from doing the dolmens the first time. Repetitve grinding was nerfed because thats how people got to VR 10 after just a few days. Why not try to "experience" the game, instead of skip everything to max VR level? The game does NOT start at max level and you are defeating the whole purpose of playing.

Agreed with pretty much everyone here. I just hit VR3 this morning. It's fun to progress your character, but I'm slowly losing interest. For starters, in the 1-50 main storyline, I found the quests to be very fun and engaging. This is especially true if you take the time to listen to the dialogue.

Now, it just seems very dull.

I've also taken to speeding through the text, since the fact I'm an Altmer hunting down Dominion "enemys", and literally being given no other option than to engage in missions to strengthen the Pact's war efforts. Absolutely cringe inducing to anybody that likes the lore and/or story of TES.

We all love different things in our online games, so having only the option of grinding through quests that aren't even apart of our faction is a real turn off. I've started to notice how empty the VR2 and 3 zones are.

I really enjoy ESO, so I hope they listen to us and introduce some ACTUAL veteran content before this game bleeds out.

The whole mindset behind grinding veteran ranks seems pointless to me, but it isn't a problem Zenimax can fix. The problem is with this whack player obsession to get past the game, as if getting to the end is going to bestow you with heaven. Why not simply play the game and let the ranks sort themselves out unheeded? If you have this personal character trait driving you to achieve something, isn't that what the Emperor feature is supposed to fulfill?

He told you why. I'll use caps lock so that you can focus on the answer: SO THAT HE CAN COMPETE WITH VR10 PLAYERS IN PVP.

Not worrying about ranks is fine if you just want to do solo quests for the rest of your time in the game. However, if you want to experience the multiplayer parts of this MMORPG then you need to get past the veteran ranks. Just because you can get into the pvp or enter craiglorn at vr1 does not mean that you will have a good experience.

It is people like you who have the wrong idea about this game. It is a Massively Multiplayer Online RPG or at least it claims to be. Solo questing for 100 hours is making this game fail. ESO is a just a single player game with a very poor co-op system.

Add 2 more veteran ranks to this and you see that making an alt or other class or reroll to another faction is totaly not viable.
if you have noticed Cyrodiil went from 4 or 5 campaings full at prime time to 1 full campaign.
The free month is over and ESO is bleeding subs left and right due to the horrible Veteran design.

I loved my way to 50 and it should have ended there when i the champion defeated the boss and saved tamriel......
Now this champion should have entered the war and wreck havoc on the battlefield, grouping with my friends and defeat Dolmans around the world of Tamriel dive into dungeons and gear myself up.
But instead i can play trough another faction zone SOLO and after that there is 1 more !!!
Goodluck Zenimax hope you have plan B ready.

ESO is the first MMO where I quit before my free time expired and the primary reasons for doing so are the vet grind, lack of gear upgrades (love being rewarded by white trash for killing a boss in a vet dungeon /sarcasm off), and the limited abilities at my disposal to try to keep the boredom away. What's sad is that I tried to make an alt when I parked my vet 6 character for a break, the moment it hit vr1 on my second character - I was done.

The devs are working on the very things that will make this game more TES and a better game for veteran ranks. Thieves Guild, Assassins Guild, and housing with spouses and children. They are also improving finding things in the environment.
I hope they improve the open world feel by connecting the Cyrodil gates to Tamriel and making it possibly to swim across the oceans. And explore underwater. Of course this idn't going to satisfy everyone, but the game expansions should do that. ... eventually :disappointed:

I think the exp is fine IF and only IF they add exploration exp for veteran ranks. I see no reason why it shouldn't be in the game at that point. If you scale it the same way it for VR as it is 1-50, that alone should make the VR+ and VR++ grind a lot more bearable.

On a positive note, more players leaving = less lag.....I have a lot less lag since the 5 day extension has ended.
