Auto-leveling dungeons that level to your group leader
Zenimax, if that really comes make i optional, if the group wants it fine but do not force it on players. I never liked the design, i go back in a zone that i cleared already and everything is as strong as me again.
I like the idea of a level sync. You could just be the group leader and not have to deal with the problem you are talking about. Or, you could just avoid going back there at all, which is what I'd expect everybody to be doing anyway.
A better idea is to have the group's "average" level determine each player's and the zone/dungeon's "dynamic" level. That way group's aren't exploiting content.

The method they mentioned does seem open to abuse, I agree. They need to think it through properly. Or employ someone with extensive MMO experience to think it through for them.
As a slower leveller and one with altitis .. I've been sitting in a queue (and shouting) for quite some time tonight trying to get my 2nd dps thru one of the L12-15 dungeons. Its not the one in the faction's zone, so less popular.
Running the lower dungeons will get sparser and sparser. It would be nice of scaling were optional, then I can run thru them with my alts later with whomever wants to come. If there is a full group, we can scale! But if not it locks the low end content behind a headache for alts and new players. With one family member I still hope will pick this game up later, optional will also help me catch him up to the bulk of the player base easier.
BTW, the correct term in the MMO world is scaling instance. It is a term that every dev should recognize without having to re-read it a couple of times to figure out what you meant.
The key word in that is instance, public dungeons would not be able to scale because of the random groups of people that would be in them, but the private dungeons would be totally scalable but probably require engine and scripting modifications that might put it on the back-burner for awhile.
