Veteran Nightblade having a few question.

Deadarth
Deadarth
So I am a veteran 3 Nightblade and I am having a little bit of problem when I have to face 3+ enemies, I am using 2 handed weapons mainly at the moment since it seemed to have very good survivability and bow felt very slow at killing things but I only used bow until level 50, so what I would like is to maybe get a few build idea and maybe get some opinions on a easy leveling build I would like to try to survive stronger monsters ...

So I was thinking of using a build mostly focusing on normal attack using Haste/Focused Attacks and Siphoning Strikes/Leeching Strikes, I'm not quite sure about the rests of the skills since I never even used dual wield but attacking much faster and getting 4% hp each hit seems awesome.

Use that Surprise Attack opener to get one down fast, or at the very least you can go invisible and keep at least one guy stun-locked. Also, don't be afraid to lay down one of the AoE ultimates.

Thanks for your reply, I know about those kind of things, the problem is not really how I play but more build related ... Maybe I should have made the post more about builds and maybe ask for opinions about my build idea way before the last part of the post.

I really like dual wield as twin has the dot. I open from stealth hit one guy and then use the dw , I generally then hit the other mobs once with it, go stealth and hit the first mob again and finish him off, then at least ive whittled down some health on the other two.

My ownly problem is vs mobs that don't take bleed damage I have a tough time using that strategy.

Thank you for your reply too, I'm wondering which DW skills are good and which are not, I would need to reset my skills to try DW and I don't really want to waste my points trying all of them, if anyone could give me an idea of what each DW skill do, I would greatly appreciate.

Normal attacks unfortunately are not that great for damage and Siphoning Strikes is bugged and only gives 2% health back.I really doubt that you can outheal the damage from three mobs with Siphoning Strikes no matter how fast you get.You sure can out dps them and with Siphoning Strikes get out of many fights alive. Two handed weapons is probably the worst weapon choice for NB in pve, crappy damage ,long animations ,no worthily synergies with our class, loosing one item slot for sets . Sword and Board and Dual wield are much better. I think the most popular choices at VR levels are either going tank or going heavy into stealth. I chose to go into stealth and it works well from me now at VR 5.

My build that I use for questing ,dolmens, world bosses public dungeons something like this.
    Build

It works great for me and I am now fighting VR 5 mobs at VR4 since I have something like 5% until I advance. I do change some of the skills around for different situations. I mainly add fighter guild skills or Elude from medium armor.
My with groups of 3 approach is to start from stealth with shadowy disguise+Surprise attack from the back then strong attack +2 light attacks killing almost anything and getting 12% of max mana back. the I will immediately go invisible again and Surprise Attack the guy that can possibly stun me then I just improvise.
For groups of 3 it's important to pick the first target wisely, if a healer type isn't dead my first assault then I will probably die.
For strong solo targets is just Shadowy disguise+Surprise+ strong attack and repeat.I can stun lock VR 5 watchers until they are dead >:) .

For world bosses I of course let somebody else take most of the punishment and spam Surprise attack and other various suff.
Dolmens I go bow with a lot of fighter guild skills and go melee if I see fit.

For gear. medium armor at least 5 for crit chance. Try to get magicka caped and as much magicka regen/cost reduction as you can. After that get as much health as you can. Get some sets. Weapons are all actually great .It is a really hard choice for me, I think dagger/maces/sword are all probably viable with the passives from DW.

    @PBpsy‌

What are your stats (mag/hp/sta) ?

    Curious also about shadowdisguise:

I have it maxed and tooltip says +100% crit chance on next attack.

But it does not crit for me (i use shadowdisguise + surprise attack and doesnt crit even when im behind the mob !!)

So im curious about how you make the crit work.

Also, if i go "invis" and crouch to remain in shealth mode is not working as mobs detect me asap after invis ends...

I never have problems with 3 enemies.
    1.mark a target, not mage
2.sneak behind the mage and 1 shot kill him with ultimate or suprise attack
3.kill the marked target that way you will get all your health back and the last one alone with full health should be easy
Hota'h, Dual-wield/bow full medium armor NB Khajiit from day 1.

    My stats are.
    18M/29H/2S
The 2 S are because I never respeced stats.
There is no trick of making the skill work.It just works.

Are you sure that you do not crit . I suggest getting a combat log addon. The nicest one I found is T's combat stats . You just create a new chat tab and you get a combat log . Very non intrusive, no magical floating numbers etc.
You also can hear the crit . You know that crunchy breaking noise?

As for the initial start of combat surprise attack back stab from shadows It's just obvious that it crits. I had the damn thing do +2000dmg and one shot some things. Of course this only happens if I was not detected in advance in which case the SA crit is at 500/600dmg.

For the invisibility, this is how the skill is designed. It does not break agro otherwise the mobs would go to full health if we were solo. In combat SD is for positioning, crit, interrupting .drinking that potion.the awesome buffs when active and after. It can be used to get the hell out of the fight but you must chain it and run.
