Toggle backup weapon?

I realized this option to toggle between main weapon and back up weapon, but it is only unlocked until level 15. I would like to know whether we can toggle between our main weapon and backup weapon with just a simple click during combat, or do we still have to pause and open up the character interface to toggle it? For example, I am playing as archer now, but I realized my weakness in close combat, so I wanted to use dual wielding weapons as well for close combat. But the important thing is, if it is possible for players to switch between main and backup weapons quickly during combat? And would that be a good idea?

You can bind it to what ever key you want
