Is Finding Lore Books the Only Way to Level Mages Guild Skill Line?

How do you level the Mages Guild skill line/tree? Is finding lore books the only way to do this?

Yes. I believe it takes ~2/3 of the total books in-game to max mages guild

What about all the scraps of paper you find? or books that aren't lore books? Do they help with anything?

No, but they can be tied into Achievements. You may want to check your achievement journal to see.

Well, I once picked up a regular glowing scroll (as in, not blue) and got the 'Lorebook Discovered' text... Not sure if it really was a lorebook that wasn't blue, or if something else happened.

From what I can tell, yes. Only discovering lorebooks raises Mage Guild line. I don't have any of the skills, so not sure if using what's in there does it as well.

The same with Fighter's Guild. As I defeat the bosses on the maps (the skull and crossbone icons) I've gotten more with them. I only have Silver Bolts from that line, so unsure if using that raises it too.

I think Undaunted goes up as you do dungeons, public or otherwise, but don't quote me on that.

Undaunted is the slowest of them all. I've completed Dungeons for 3 Zones now, all the dungeons even(Solo/Group). It's only lvl 2 so far.

This add-on will make it a lot easier to find those books by placing the books you don't have on the map and the compass.
