Nightblade Skill Veiled Strike Morph Surprise Attack - New Player Question - Morph Require Stealth?

I can not tell if the 40% reduced armor from Surprise Attack applied when not in stealth. I have tried it (no addons) from stealth and non stealth and seems to make no difference. I know you must be in stealth for the 4 second stun to apply, yes, but what about the morph that applies the 40% armor reduction? Does that require stealth for the effect as well?

Please only answer if you are 100% certain. I am deciding how I want my bar set up, and need to know if this morph applies the 40% armor reduction while in combat (not in stealth).

Thank You Very Much

I cant answer the question, only to make you consider this: Our magica damage abilities doesnt benefit from reduced armor value. THe other morph, concealed weapon, makes you sneak 25% faster. I find this golden combined with vampire sneak passive, it's basically sprinting while sneaking.

From what I can tell from my combat logs
    T's combat stats.
Any attack made after an initial SA will deal slightly more damage about 7% more. Even if made when not in stealth. I haven't seen any add on that tells you that the debuff is active though.

Anyway, even if it did not apply the 40% armor reduction I would still not take SA from my bar ever. It is the best damage dealer we have in our class if we decide to go melee and is responsible for about 60% of my damage output.

I am pretty sure that this is not actually the case. Our melee class attacks seem to be mitigated by armor. Just like they are governed by physical crit chance and not spell crit. A lot of things about this class is lost in absolutely stupid inaccurate skill description and hidden stats.

I have used the speed morph for a long time but it's useless IMO outside PVP. You never get to use the bonus much since after the initial attack targets will be close anyway even if you go in Shadowy Disguise. Even for pvp if you are not a vampire(as if!?) it probably makes little difference.

Yeah thats my point, concealed weapon is the other morph. Damage is nice, but mobility can also be king. Being able to sprint while you sneak and easier pick targets is great.

I usually open with Ambush for the bonus damage and it is much easier to close the gap. From there I use Flurry (DW skill) then Dark cloak (100% crit morphed) followed by Surprise Attack. There is usally no more fighting after this, lol.

To actually answer the OP's question: the armor reduction occurs regardless of whether you are stealthed.
