Yellow Crafted Items - Naming

I think a really cool feature that would be relatively easy to implement would be that of naming items of yellow quality.

If you are a smith, for example, and you craft and upgrade a twohanded sword to the highest quality, you get to name it once, permanently, and everyone who ever inspects that item sees the name you gave it. This gives a personal touch to crafting that could add to those of us who plan on selling our wares.

Thoughts?

I was expecting this feature to be in the game from day one. I hope they add it.

Obviously we know people would make some stupid immature names the moment this is implemented, but I do agree with it. I figure if we can craft our own stuff and make the effort to make it legendary we should get to name it.

How do you prevent players from naming items after lore items, or end game items? No, I don't think they should add the ability to name weapons or armor, even if it's upgraded to Legendary, but I do this it'd be nice to be able to give our crafted items flavor text, like what many, many quest rewards in this game have. (ex: "you were rewarded this awesome axe by Captain Lazy for saving this village")
"It is okay to fear the night, even the bravest warriors are filled with fright, at the sight of the might of Sithis' fang, let the blood be washed away by the rain, let the stains forever remain, another life taken in Sithis' name, another soul for the void. All hail our Dread Father and his consort, the Night Mother." -Stalks-His-Prey

As others have already said, there are 2 major issues that would start with this feature. First, the obscene, inappropriate, distasteful, offensive names that would appear the minute this feature went live. The second issue would be scamming concerns, with people imitating names already in-game & well known lore names, such as Wuuthrad & Wabbajack.
Catches-the-Sun - Argonian Templar - Master Smith, Provisioner, Chemist & Tailor
Valaren Arobone - Dunmer Flamewalker - Master Woodworker, Provisioner, Assassin
Kazahad - Khajiiti Arcane Archer - Master Thief
    V'orkten - Redguard Swordmaster
Finnvardr the Frenzied - Werewolf Berzerker

People who give these items stupid names will probably never be able to sell them. That point seems kinda silly.

I guess people could get scammed, but this would likely be against the ToS, just as giving your character a name that already exists in the lore/game is against the ToS. Scamming someone in this way could quite possibly lead to banning if this feature were implemented.

    Thanks for responding guys!

I think an easy way to prevent items being named after existing items ingame would simply be to apply a naming filter. You could also prevent alot of the obscene names using this technique as well.

If someone was really intent on naming their item after an existing one, they would have to use a slightly different name. This would be similar to knockoff products in RL. No one in their right mind would buy a Wobbajok.
