Dwarven Spider Pet

Every once in a while I will see one of things, and I have been trying to find out more about them.
Anyone know where (or how) I can get one?

For the DC faction it's a quest reward from the Bangkorai area.

I would imagine it would be the same type of deal for the EP. Now I'm on a quest to find the quest.

it's the quest reward for doing Razak's Wheel In southern Bangkorai

As @Iago said, it's a quest reward, and particularly the trophy you get for completing Razak's Wheel, which is a public dungeon in southern Bangkorai. Everyone can do it, not just DC characters, but of course for non-DC characters it's veteran content. When I did it the quest was bugged, so I did not actually receive the trophy. I contacted Zenimax about it, and a very nice game-master sent me the Dwemer spider via in-game mail. I don't know whether the bug has been fixed or not since then, but even back then it did not affect everyone.

I just went through that dungeon last week with someone And they received their spider pet So I think it may be fixed.

I'm surprised they didn't have 3 different pets, one for each faction.

It's really not very surprising. Each faction has its own unique cool things, think for example of the Gemstone of Skeletal Visage, or of Kollopi Essence, or of the Goblin costume (can't remember what it's called). If you play the game throughout all of the veteran areas, you will eventually get everything. It doesn't really matter whether you get the pet (or anything else) early in the game or later on.
